A few weeks after its highly anticipated launch, XDefiant finally welcomes its very first season, an opportunity for players of Ubisoft's free-to-play FPS to enjoy new gameplay features.

The very first season has just been deployed, giving the opportunity to discover a ton of improvements, but also a brand new faction that should certainly speak to Rainbow Six Siege players!

What's New in XDefiant Season 1
Gameplay
- Boosters: The duration of activated Boosters now only decreases during actual game time, not outside of matches.
- Battle Pass: XP threshold for each tier reduced for faster progression.
- Match XP Bonus:
- MVP and Victory rewards reduced from 2,000 to 1,000 XP.
- Reward for Equality reduced from 1000 to 500 XP.
- Doubled Completion Reward from 2,000 to 4,000 XP to encourage players to complete matches.
- Killfeed: Added a headshot icon following community requests.

- New Faction: GSK: Introducing the elite Grenzschutzkommando (GSK) team specializing in crowd control and securing territories. GSK Abilities: Electrified barbed wire, active defense system against enemy devices, flash charges mounted on the G52 tactical shield.
- Echelon: Intel suit cooldown increased from 30 to 40 seconds.
- Phantoms
- Magnetic Barrier cooldown increased from 30 to 40 seconds.
- Magnetic Barrier health reduced from 500 to 400.
- The AEGIS now takes damage from EMP grenades (six grenades to disable it).
- DedSec
- Hack cooldown reduced from 28 to 20 seconds (plus remaining duration of hacked skill).
- Reduced recovery time on failed hack from 8 to 5 seconds.
- Spiderbot cooldown increased from 25 to 40 seconds.
- Adjusted Spiderbot behavior to prevent multiple Spiderbots from attacking the same target simultaneously.
- Freedom
- BioVida boost cooldown reduced from 25 to 20 seconds.
- Fixed Medico Supremo issue where it will no longer disappear after the player changes faction.
Maps
New Map: Clubhouse: Two-story map ideal for close-to-mid range combat. Available for Domination, Occupation, Hot Shot, and the new CTF.
Game Modes
Capture the Flag (CTF): New mode where you have to capture the enemy flag and bring it back to your base while protecting your own flag. Available on various maps.
Weapons
- Flinch
- Improved flinch penalty when hit by sniper rifle for smoother camera transition.
- Camera transition speed increased by 25%.
- The camera now always moves up instead of randomly.
- Tripled camera sideways movement.
- New weapons
- L115: Lighter sniper rifle than the TAC-50 with faster handling but slightly lower damage.
- LVOA-C: Custom rifle with a fast rate of fire but more recoil and reduced range.
- Sawed-Off Shotgun: Short-range secondary weapon with high impact.
- Mastery Skins
- Added Titanium Violet (level 300), Titanium Azure (level 350), and Titanium Prisma (level 400) skins.
- Corrections
- Fixed issues with weapon and optics shaking in first person view.
Devices
- Flash Grenade Visual Effect: New visual effect that is less intense but still disorienting.
- Fixed Exploit: Removed an exploit that allowed respawning with multiple devices using the “Copy Loadout” option in the lobby.
Social
Creator Code Program: Allows players to choose a creator to receive commissions on their XCoin purchases.
Corrections
- Players can no longer create parties with enemy players and voice chat during matches.
- Disable whispers in text chat.
Audio
Audio Mixing: Adjust the volume and clarity of in-game voices and sound effects.
Miscellaneous
- Kersey's Dungaree Skin: Closed Beta participants now keep the skin.
- Ubisoft Connectivity: Fixed challenge tracking issues.
