Anno 1800 was released five years ago – there has never been such a long break between two parts of the construction series before. So is it time for a successor? According to user feedback on social media, an announcement of Anno xxxx is imminent. And there are solid reasons for this.
Where does the excitement about a new Anno come from?

The name Blue Byte, once inseparably linked to The Settlers, now stands for a network of three cooperating studios in Berlin, Düsseldorf and Mainz, which already worked together on Anno 1800. The million dollar check represented the funding for a new game called »Project Placeholder«, Ubisoft Mainz was listed as the executive studiot.
Although there are still no official confirmation from Ubisoftbut it seems obvious that the funding is intended for the next Anno game. And that is exactly what could be announced at Ubisoft Forward – let's wait and see.
