Unlocking WWE 2K24: Exploring the Mechanics of “Super Finishers”

The new wrestling game from “2K Games” will be released in March. In addition to a roster update, there are also some new features. One of these are the “Super Finishers”. What are they and how do they work?

The “Finishing Moves” are well known in both fighting games and the real wrestling world. It is a particularly strong action that takes away a lot of energy from the opponent and usually signals the end of a match. The “Super Finishers” are even more powerful.

WWE 2K24: This is how the “Super Finishers” work

In previous parts of the series, you could “save” up to 3 finishing moves and then execute them one after the other. In WWE 2K24 you can even accumulate up to 5 such actions. For a “Super Finisher” you need three saved “Finisers”. You can then execute it. How this works and what action is involved depends on the respective superstar. It will probably be a modified, harder version of the normal finishing move. With Cody Rhodes, for example, there will be a triple “Cross Rhodes”.

While a “kick out” is possible with normal finishing actions, with “super finishers” it is said to be almost impossible to free yourself from a subsequent pin. The action is suitable if you want to be on the safe side and win with a “3 count”.

More new features in WWE 2K24

In addition to the “Super Finishing” moves, 2K Games promises some other gameplay innovations. This is how you can do top rope dives. The superstar jumps from the top ring rope onto a group of opponents outside the ring. New weapons such as trash cans and guitars are also announced. You can not only beat up your opponents at close range with the objects, but you can also throw them at them.

Here you will also find an overview of the differences between the different editions of WWE 2K24. You will also find out which matches are planned for the new showcase mode.
