Elden Ring is a difficult game…and its latest expansion is apparently even harder. Enough to frustrate many players, but not all either: the streamer Kai Cenat seems to understand this challenge.

An extension as expected as it is difficult
It's not even a game strictly speaking, but Shadow of the Erdtree was nevertheless one of the most desired video game projects of the entire year 2024. The Elden Ring expansion arrived last Friday, offering a gigantic and new area with a solid lifespan, full of dungeons, enemies and bosses. The original experience is prolonged, sublimated for some… but also becomes too demanding for others.
In fact, fromSoftware's DLC is being talked about for its difficulty: it would quite simply be the most hardcore expansion ever offered by the Japanese studio. Elden Ring has already made more than one player tear their hair out, This new adventure is clearly causing nervous breakdowns and abandonments.
A difficulty… logical?
Of course, many people complain about this difficulty on the web: we can even say that it is one of the trendy topics of the moment on social networks. Enough to push streamer Kai Cenat to react, even though he only started the Elden Ring adventure two months ago… knowing that it is his first game fromSoftware.
You guys love to say “this is too hard”… Go ahead and fight. What are you talking about, seriously? Let's be clear: this is the first major piece of content released for Elden Ring since it came out two years ago. So why the f*** would they make a DLC that you could finish in a day or two? That would be insane.
The video was notably shared on X, with YouTuber The Act Man adding: “this guy started playing FromSoftware games about 2 months ago and he already understands their games better than some of the studio's fans do today, LOL”. A post that has still been liked 75,000 times.
Yeah it's meant to be a huge step up. It's how Bloodborne was and how Dark Souls did things.
People both want a lot of new content but don't want to spend more than a few hours beating it. You can't have both.

In the responses, many give credit to Kai Cenat. “This is supposed to be a huge leap,” one user says of the DLC's difficulty. “That's how Bloodborne and Dark Souls worked too. People want massive new content, but not a lot of time to finish it. That's not possible.”
And you, do you find Shadow of the Erdtree too difficult?
