That's it, Pax Dei is finally launched in its early access version for everyone. The opportunity to jump into the game and start building the impressive villages and castles in the trailer. But how exactly does the building part of the game work? This is what we will see in this article.

Plots, the basis of construction on Pax Dei
The Pax Dei map takes the following form. You have 4 major regions surrounding a fifth in the center. This central region is a bit special given that it will be the PvP zone of the game and as such, construction is impossible there.
This is at least the case at the release of early access, even if we imagine that in the near future, players will be able to construct buildings there, in order to establish the domination of their clan. At any rate, It is not possible to do this at the moment.
On the other hand, in the 4 other regions of the game where you will be able to appear, it is entirely possible to build. To do this, you will first have to lay out a plot. For that, the first step will be to craft the builder's hammerwhich normally happens after a few minutes.
By taking it in hand, an area will appear all around you, delimiting the plot. If it appears in red, it means that you are too close to a basic structure in the game and therefore cannot place it there. As long as it is blue, you can place it wherever you want.
Once this is done, the entire area within these blue borders is now yours and it is possible to construct buildings and workshops there. Anyone can visit this area, but no one but you can build or destroy things there.
You should know that in this early access of Pax Dei, not everyone will start equal in terms of plots. In fact, you will logically have at least one, regardless of the pack you purchased. Except that the more you pay, the more plots you have.
The €40 pack gives you one, the one at 60, two and finally the one at 100, four. You can then connect these plots to create a much larger building space. But don’t worry, you can also do it with friends!
Indeed, when you are in the same clan, it will be possible to share plots between members. This is how you will be able to create villages or even huge castles in the game.
This is ultimately quite logical given that the game relies heavily on collaboration between players to develop the game map. Because yes, if you weren't aware, you won't find a big city with NPCs in Pax Dei like in other MMOs. Players are responsible for worldbuilding, aside from a few PvE instances.
