One Piece season 2 found its Smoker and Tashigi

The announcements continue for season 2 of One Piece. Filming has officially begun in Cape Town, South Africa, and Netflix is beginning to reveal its new cast recruits. For now, the SVOD platform has revealed the faces of some secondary characters as important for the future. Mr 3, the giants Brogy and Dorry, or even the first members of Baroque Works, have all found their actors and actresses. Fans of the manga were waiting for other, more important names. Netflix seeming to follow the order of events and appearances, we are finally entitled to juicy revelations about the casting of season 2 of One Piece. Today we're talking about two Navy officers particularly popular with fans: Smoker and Tashigi.

The Vice-Admiral, nicknamed The White Hunter because of the powers of his devil fruit, will thus be played by Callum Kerr, seen in the series Monarch. Her sidekick, Captain Tashigi will obviously also be there for this season 2 of One Piece. She will be played by Julia Rehwald, view in Fear Street from Netflix, where Emily Rudd (Nami), had also starred. In the manga and anime, the character is notable for her striking resemblance to Kuina, Zoro's childhood friend, which never fails to disturb the three-bladed swordsman.

Still no Chopper on the horizon

A duo now inseparable from the work and which will be particularly important for the future. Following the order of the arcs, two of the characters from the Drum arc will then be revealed. Sorry to disappoint, Netflix has not revealed the design of Chopper, nor confirmed whether or not Jamie Lee Curtis will take on the role of her mentor, Dr. Kiera, as she wanted. Instead, we learn that Wapol will be played by Rob Colletti (unknown to the battalion, let's be honest). Ty Keogh, seen in the film Blood Diamond, will therefore give him the answer by playing Dalton.

If we follow the logic of things, the streaming giant should continue with the extras from the Alabasta arc. However, it seems that the big roles are saved for last. We may have to wait a little longer before knowing who will play Crocodile, Robin or Ace. Vivi, for her part, should be portrayed by Charithra Chandranknown for her role in The Bridgerton Chronicles.
