In a few weeks, Samsung will introduce its Galaxy Ring to challenge the top dog Oura for the crown. Now Amazfit is joining them with its Helio Ring, which is available now.

Why this is important: More and more manufacturers are entering the wearables market and bringing out gadgets for the finger. Amazfit is a hardware manufacturer that has so far tried to score points with a good price-performance ratio.

  • The ring starts at around 300 euros. Unlike the competition, there is no extra charge for the titanium alloy.
  • Amazfit offers the gadget in sizes 10 and 12.
  • The manufacturer positions the ring primarily for sleep and health monitoring.
  • The smart ring is compatible with both Android (7.0 and higher) and iOS (iOS 14 and higher).

In detail: The ring weighs less than four grams and allows you to monitor your heart rate, blood oxygen and stress. The aforementioned sleep tracking is also possible.

Setup and operation is done via the associated app Zeppwhich is also used in the manufacturer's watches.

If you have both the Amazfit watch and the ring, the combined data will be displayed in the app. However, the ring can also be used without the watch without any problems.

Not surprisingly, the Amazfit Ring Helio is supposed to monitor your vital data.

As with many other manufacturers, a score is calculated from the sleep data, on the basis of which recommendations are made for improving sleep, recovery time and more.

Synchronization with third-party fitness apps such as Google Fit, Apple Health, komoot and more is also possible. The ring also offers a total of four sports modes.

What about the battery life? According to the manufacturer, the ring lasts about four days with average use. The 20.5 mAh battery can be fully recharged wirelessly in about 1 hour and 40 minutes.

The ring is also waterproof up to 10 ATM.
