The June 2024 Nintendo Direct had many surprises in store for us. Some nice announcements will punctuate the end of 2024 as well as next year, to the great pleasure of players!
After a Summer Game Fest 2024 with conferences that were sometimes uneven but still full of announcements, Nintendo is bringing the June festivities to a close. After clearly declaring that this would be the last major talk time around the Switch releases, Big N is unpacking some great new features at Nintendo Direct and announces the return of large licenses. In 40 minutes, he put together trailers that should please fans of the Japanese publisher's mascots, and even others!

What to remember from the Nintendo Direct
As is often the case with Nintendo, remasters and other ports are included. However, this also marks the return of very popular opuses, to be (re)discovered on the Switch. We already knew that we would see the endearing coward Luigi again in Luigi's Mansion 2 HD. We will therefore be more delighted to see Donkey Kong Country Returns coming to Switch. And for fans of the genre, episodes of Ace Attorney never before released outside of Japan are finally arriving here. On the RPG side, Dragon Quest is announced, by surprise, as a trio!
But, more than remakes and remasters, very popular licenses are finally seeing new iterations! It's the case for Mario and Luigi, who opened the conference with a brand new pair RPG. The two brothers also invite us to the party for a new Super Mario Party. But, what people were waiting for most… It's a new game The Legend of Zelda, which promises to make the dream of many fans come true, as well as the highly anticipated Metroid Prime 4, renamed Metroid Prime Beyond.
At the same time, several minor games have announced updates. This is particularly the case of the much appreciated Disney Illusion Islandas well as Nintendo Swtich Sports which welcomes a new discipline. Four new classics have also been announced for Nintendo Switch Online. Finally, note that two licenses usually associated with PlayStation were also shown. We also had the pleasure of seeing LEGO Horizon Adventuresas well as seeing the feline Stray announce itself on Nintendo's portable console.
