Sony reveals which games are particularly successful on the PlayStation consoles. The number 1 on the PS5 is a big surprise. After all, the pirate adventure comes from the biggest competitor.
Pirates are very popular on the PlayStation 5
PlayStation players currently have a favorite that was developed by Xbox Game Studios. In the PS5 download charts Sea of Thieves is in first place for May. The pirate adventure from developer Rare dominates the top list in the USA and Canada as well as in Europe.

In Sea of Thieves you take on the role of a pirate in an open world, either alone or with up to three other friends. You can typical pirate activities like searching for treasure or competing in PvP with other ships. The game was originally only released for Xbox and PC. In February 2024, Microsoft decided to release Sea of Thieves and three other Xbox games on other consoles.

Aside from Sea of Thieves, Helldivers 2, Grand Theft Auto 5 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 can also look forward to success on the PS5. On the PS4, however, Minecraft in first place, but Red Dead Redemption 2 and Fallout 4 also secure places in the top 5 (source: PlayStation Blog).

Xbox brings games to more platforms
