EA is controversial in the gaming community because of its aggressive DLC policy and unfinished games. But it is only thanks to EA that we have a classic.

The Battlefield 3 servers on the PS3 and Xbox 360 will also be closed eventually. However, this will not happen on July 31st. Instead, the servers will be closed a little longer. According to the Twitter post, the online services will be terminated on November 7th, 2024.

This process does not only apply to Battlefield 3. EA is pursuing the same plan for Battlefield 4 and Battlefield: Hardline. The post also stresses that the end of services and the sales stop only applies to the console versions on PS3 and Xbox 360. So Battlefield 3 on the PC will not disappear completely for the time being.
