Last May, our dear Loulou told us about Warhammer Skulls 2024. We were able to discover through a short trailer, the new big update of Warhammer 40,000: Darktide which is called Secrets of The Machine God. The latter has now been available for a few days.
Clandestium Gloriana, This is the name of the new mission (previously called Atelium Foundryplex Omega V). Players will have to venture into the heart of Tertium where they will meet a character named Swagger whose origins remain unknown. He will accompany you on the ground throughout your mission, the outcome of which may vary, thus increasing replayability. Veteran, Fanatic, Psyker And Ogryn will have to wake up the forges of the industrial complex Atelium Foundryplex, asleep for ages. Although these were no longer in operation, the cooling system continued to operate, causing the entire installation to freeze.

If you want to know more about the design and narrative of this new map, the Fatshark studio has released A dev blog where level designer Fredric Grapensparr and narrative lead Michael Knight, both part of the team responsible for creating this new area, were interviewed.
The update also introduces new weapons. Pickaxes will be available for Ogryns. These two-handed weapons will be divided into three brands: pickaxe Branx (Heavy), Borovian pickaxe (average) and Karsolas' Pickaxe (light). Needless to say, these weapons will deal high damage and have high impact. Shock clubs, a double-barreled rifle and the bolt pistol will be available for classes Veteran, Zealot And Psyker.
Gameplay changes in missions have also been made based on numerous comments from the community, such as an update to the reticle. They are now classified into several categories, each with its own style that always leaves empty space for hit markers, regardless of the weapon's range.

As usual, many bugs have been fixed, adjustments have been made and a whole bunch of really cool things have been added. You can find the list just here And there. Finally, the named event Test Your Metal is currently underway and will end on July 11th. You will receive rewards including: Ordo pouchesof Plasteel and some Diamondine.
