Even though we're entering the soft underbelly of video game releases, July has no shortage of titles to watch, including the return of cult franchises.

June had already been rather quiet, with the exception of the brilliant Shadow of the World Tree for Elden Ring. While waiting for the start of the school year and a September that promises to be very busy with big releases, it is worth focusing on the present, with those to watch out for in July, with some nice people despite everything.

Video game releases in July 2024 marked by cult licenses

This is in any case the main theme that emerges from the video game releases of the month of July. It starts today with the Dawntrail expansion for the famous MMO Final Fantasy XVI on PC and PS5. On July 11, it's Ace Combat 7 which puts us back in the cockpit of a fighter plane, but this time on Switch. Same fight for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Splintered Fate with a port on the hybrid console on July 17. Still on Switch, retro game fans will be treated to a nice nostalgia cure on July 18 with Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition, announced during the last Nintendo Direct. F1 Manager 24 will immerse us in the management of this iconic motorsport on PC and home consoles on July 23. Earth Defense Force 6 will also make a smashing return on PC, PS4 and PS5 on July 25. Finally, One Piece Odyssey will be the last Switch port to watch in July, more precisely on the 26th.

However, it's not just the iconic licenses that are getting their moment of glory this July. Other totally new releases are also part of the game. We're thinking in particular of the Warframe-like The First Descendant, available today on PC and home consoles. The psychedelic and hilarious Anger Foot published by Devolver Digital also intends to put us in our shoes on July 11 on PC. On July 18, two games expected on PC and home consoles particularly caught our attention: Dungeons of Hinterberg and Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn. The next day, it's Capcom's brand new license that's getting its hands dirty: Kunitsu-Gami: Pah of the Goddess. Finally, we're keeping an eye on Marvel Rivals, the Overwatch-like from Tencent, which will open in beta on July 23.
