An important anniversary
Next year, the J-RPG saga Tales of will celebrate its 30th anniversary. A major anniversary for which Bandai Namco has already announced the holding of the Tales of Festival in June next year and for which the studio could soon announce a new opus.
Fans have been waiting for the return of the saga for several years now. Tales of Arisethe latest installment, was released in 2021 before receiving an extension two years later. A late release that failed to live up to expectations.
That being said, the license remains extremely popular in the West, but also and especially in Japan. And Japanese fans were delighted to have news of Tales of recently after sharing a report concerning a recent interview between Bandai Namco and its investors.
An unmissable event
A few days ago, a Twitter/X user shared some information on this last interview. When one of the investors reportedly asked if Bandai Namco had any plans for Tales of's anniversary, the studio representative reportedly replied: “I can't reveal anything at the moment, but expect announcements soon“. Furthermore, the author of this post points out that this response was more affirmative than the text suggests, which therefore indicates that Bandai Namco does indeed have a project in preparation.
This also echoes statements made by series producer Yusuke Tomizawa in 2022. The producer then declared to Famitsu : “If no opus is released for the thirtieth anniversary, then I will have failed in my duty to the series“. A message that could not be more explicit to the fans, who can therefore expect to have news very soon.
