Elden Ring has quite a few problems on PC, but the studio is on the case. The developers even found a trick to avoid bugs while waiting to permanently correct everything.

The imposing Elden Ring DLC is finally available on consoles and PC. After months of waiting, Shadows of the Erdtree was released recently and has literally broken all records. More than 5 million units sold in just… 72 hours, ultra positive ratings, player feedback which is not to be outdone… a very very great success for FromSoftware, apart from one detail, on PC, it is still the hell for some players.

Remember, upon its launch, the Elden Ring DLC was burned on Steam. Many were complaining about the difficulty, which has now been lowered, but there are still major optimization issues. Players are angry about violent jerks which have the annoying habit of causing the framerate to drop in the process, hell.
While definitive solutions have not yet been found, FromSoftware is working hard to resolve the issue as quickly as possible and seems to have made great progress. The studio claims to have identified the problem, at least in part, and offers a little effective tip to get around the problem while waiting for the bug to be permanently fixed.

A tip to get around bugs on PC, while waiting for a REAL solution

According to the devs, it would be the mouse control applications that would crash everything while running in the background. A bug indeed seems to be linked to this type of software.
To avoid problems, FromSoftware therefore recommends simply disabling them before playing in order to limit the damage. A simple but effective tip according to the studio.

“On the PC version, if you play the game while a mouse control-related application is running in the background, the frame rate may become unstable. In this case, please stop all applications related to mouse control and restart the game,” we can read on X.

However, this does not guarantee that you will no longer have any problems since many testimonies affirm that, even if there is clearly an improvement, other residual problems are still present. But everything should be resolved soon.

FromSoftware has indeed announced the imminent arrival of one or more patches to optimize its game. After balancing the difficulty, technical problems are in the developers' sights. Everything should therefore soon be back to normal.
