Rockstar Games continues to keep GTA 5 alive, while waiting for Grand Theft Auto 6. A shower of free content and promos have just arrived for the multiplayer mode.
GTA 6 still hasn't arrived, but according to Take-Two Interactive, it's set to release in 2025. The publisher is confident enough to deliver one of the most anticipated games of this generation on time. A PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC exclusive that is also rumored to be available on PS5 Pro. So the launch isn't for tomorrow, but fans of the franchise can still take advantage of Grand Theft Auto 5.

GTA 5 Gets Free Content for Independence Day
After 11 years of operation, GTA 5 is still going strong. The game passed the incredible milestone of 200 million copies in May 2024. A staggering number that has only increased year after year. The single-player portion is still generating dollars after all this time, and the same is true for the multiplayer component GTA 5 Online. To keep the large community engaged, Rockstar Games offers free content, in-game promotions or temporary XP boosts during special events. A new one is currently underway to celebrate Independence Day and offers different patriotic elements to the glory of America.
Right off the bat, you can grab three Independence Day bucket hats (Fireworks, Star-Spangled Banner, and Lady Liberty) by logging in. If you want more festive hats, crates obtained from Trade Wars contain four types of Beer Helmets (Pisswasser, Benedict, Patriot, Supa Wet), and the Hilarity T-shirt. In GTA 5 Online, money is everything. Without it, it's hard to splash out on luxurious homes and the like.
To boost your bank account, a weekly challenge until July 10, 2024 allows you to win 100,000 GTA dollars. There is only one condition to meet to win the jackpot: complete 3 mobile operations. As usual, GTA dollars and reputation points (RP) are tripled (in mobile operations), or doubled (in Passage en Force remix). If you have a GTA+ subscription, an additional 1,000,000 GTA dollars are offered, with other benefits such as a free Överflöd Pipistrello (supercar), the Independence Day pants and jacket, new chameleon paints, etc.
GTA 5 Online Independence Day Update
Vehicles are at the heart of this GTA 5 Online Independence Day update. If you're the lucky type, you can win a red, white, and blue Karin Boor on the Wheel of Fortune. But if you're unlucky, you'll have the chance to get it through the podium heist. It's not the only car available through a heist, either, as there's also the Bravado Buffalo STX and the Invetero Coquette D10.

Additionally, the Överflöd Pipistrello supercar is now available for purchase, whereas it was previously only available to GTA+ subscribers. If you want to get your hands on it, you'll need to head over to Legendary Motorsport or the Luxury Autos showroom.
