  • Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail
  • Zenless Zone Zero
  • Earth Defense Force 6
  • The Legend of Heroes: Trails through Daybreak

The First Descendant

One of the interesting releases of the month, without a doubt. Developed by the South Korean studio Nexon, This ultra-brutal TPS has you playing as a Legatee, whose goal is to copiously machine-gun gigantic and very nasty monsters, with loot to back it up. The title can be played alone or with up to four people in online cooperation, while it relies on the Unreal Engine 5 for a frankly enticing visual. A future good surprise? We'll soon know.

Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail

Square Enix's famous MMO is determined to offer you something new: proof of this is Dawntrail, the next major expansion for the Japanese RPG. Here, Head to Tural, a brand new continent to explore west of Eorzea, apparently the birthplace of the legend of the Golden City. Massive exploration, new characters, new raids, dungeons, new jobs and the arrival of Hrothgar women promise a dense and polished experience. Also, Dawntrail marks the first step in the game's graphic overhaul. More than a DLC, a real facelift that will be useful for the game's entire future.

Zenless Zone Zero

If Zenless Zone Zero is so anticipated, it is because it is signed miHoYo, the Chinese studio behind the phenomenon Genshin Impact. Here, it is a question of diving body and soul into New Eridu, a futuristic metropolis, but also devastated by the Ethereal, formidable enemies who have traveled through strange portals. The game therefore takes the form of a very brutal action-RPG, where the player can recruit more and more members and make more and more varied combos. A title planned for all platforms (even mobile) and for free, since it is free-to-play.

Earth Defense Force 6

The Earth Defense Force saga seems to be getting old. It was originally called Monster Attack in 2004, before becoming Global Defense Force, then Earth Defense Force. So here we are talking about a new episode with a similar concept: Big insectoid aliens land on Earth and we have to beat them up with guns that go boom-boom. Okay, that's pretty crudely summarized, but it must be said that we have here a brutal, explosive TPS, also playable in online cooperation, for a really easy cocktail. And that feels good, sometimes.

The Legend of Heroes: Trails through Daybreak

A good big J-RPG that will keep you busy for a while, how about that? The Legend of Heroes saga continues in this new episode with a fascinating and above all very… political world. To give you an idea, we are talking about a futuristic nation in a flourishing post-war period, but where growing immigration and increasingly numerous political reforms are fracturing society. You will have to conduct your own investigation, play the bounty hunter or the negotiator through a gigantic quest full of twists and turns and new game mechanics. Long hours in perspective.
