As we learn more about Dragon Age 4, it continues to look more promising, most recently with the confirmation of a beloved feature.

Many revelations followed the first official presentation of the gameplay of Dragon Age 4. On paper, each one comes to reassure fans of the license and of the BioWare of yesteryear, which has experienced a long crossing of the desert in recent years. But it was apparently to better come back with this very monitored RPG during the fall. In any case, fans of customization should find their happiness there.

A tailor-made experience confirmed for Dragon Age 4

Whether it's character creation or difficulty, Dragon Age 4 promises to be particularly comprehensive, allowing everyone to enjoy a tailor-made experience. In addition to the appearance of their avatar, this is also true for their outfit, as well as that of their companions. This is in any case what Corinne Busche, the game's director, confirmed in an interview with Game Informer. This indicated that BioWare's next title will feature a “robust” transmog system.

As a reminder, this is a feature that allows you to apply the appearance you want to your pieces of equipment, without it altering the statistics. You can therefore wear armor that does not match the rest of your outfit, and apply the appearance you want to it. In addition to your avatar, this will also be possible for the seven characters that can make up our group. Even if we will not be able to control them in combat, we will therefore be able to fully manage our companions, from their skills to their equipment and their appearance.

Finally the long-awaited comeback for BioWare?

After the bitter mistakes that were Mass Effect Andromeda and Anthem, BioWare seems to have wanted to take its time to offer a Dragon Age 4 that lives up to expectations. Even if it will be more directive than Inquisition, its sequel intends to be a complete single-player game with a rich story centered on our choices. Still published by Electronic Arts, the title will also ignore controversial elements present in many modern games such as microtransactions and the need to be connected to the Internet.

To some extent, such a commitment from BioWare is reminiscent of Larian Studios' exemplary approach to its own games, including the brilliant Baldur's Gate 3. Can we hope for a Dragon Age 4 that lives up to the absolute GOTY 2023? The answer this fall on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series.
