Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, released in January 2020, took a different approach to traditional anime fighting games. Rather than focusing solely on fast-paced combat, Kakarot introduced role-playing elements, allowing players to level up their characters, gather resources, and complete side quests in addition to the main story. And the game just got a surprise update.

Dragon Ball Z Kakarot Gets Updated

Bandai Namco recently surprised Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot fans by quietly adding a new side mission called Legendary Super Satan. This mission features Mr. Satan, also known as Hercules, trying to become a Super Saiyan to impress his daughter. He even goes so far as to dye his hair blond, a humorous reference to the Saiyans' famous transformations.

This new quest, while light and fun, could indicate bigger plans for the game's future. Bandai Namco had previously announced that they had future plans for Kakarot, and this mission could be a taste of what's to come. The name of the quest, Legendary Super Satan, seems to echo Legendary Super Saiyan, a direct reference to Broly, an iconic character from Dragon Ball Z.

So far, Kakarot's DLC has covered major story arcs in the series, such as Battle of Gods, Resurrection 'F', and the story of Goku's father Bardock. The recently added mission could suggest that Broly, a central character not yet explored in Kakarot, could soon make an appearance. If so, it could rekindle fans' interest in the game.

Interestingly, this mission came out of the blue, suggesting a strategy by Bandai Namco to keep players engaged. By adding content in subtle ways, the publisher could be setting the stage for bigger announcements. This approach could work well, as it piques fans' curiosity and prompts them to speculate about the game's next steps.
