A Master of Horror Validates A Quiet Place: Day 1

Cinema is at its best right now with many summer releases that are a hit. Inside Out 2, The Count of Monte Cristo, but also A Quiet Place: Day One, a prequel to the eponymous franchise initiated by a first film released in 2018.

Released in theaters on June 26, this new feature film has so far received positive reviews, especially across the Atlantic. On Rotten Tomatoes, this prequel has obtained a press score of 87% and a spectator score of 73%. Favorable feedback, also supported by a big name in horror: author Stephen King probably enjoyed the film, as he suggested to his community on X/Twitter.

A hit in theaters

But Stephen King doesn't seem to be the only viewer to have had a good time watching this new installment. A critical success, the film is also a real hit at the international box office. In just over a week of release, A Quiet Place: Day One has already grossed over $114 million. On its first weekend in the United States, the feature film had already grossed over $52 million, placing it just behind Inside Out 2 and thus becoming the best start of the entire franchise. The A Quiet Place saga therefore has a bright future ahead of it. Already acclaimed when the very first film was released, the horror franchise continues to be a hit with audiences, who will also be able to discover the universe created by John Krasinki differently with the release of the video game A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead, scheduled for soon.
