The French models were favorites, but nothing is ever won with this popularity contest. This was once again verified this year, with a victory snatched by Renault which came down to the last points awarded.

The Renault teams are exultant

The Car of the Year title was awarded at the Geneva Motor Show, finally what's left of it. Renault is one of the only Car Of The Year finalists to have taken a stand at the show, the largest stand of all. Only BYD also made the effort to come… The other brands having shunned the event.

The Renault teams exploded with joy at the announcement of the title. They had already made themselves heard just before, when Renault had taken the lead with a small lead. But the BMW's rise in points had restored the silence. The suspense was at its height. The announcement of the final score was therefore a relief for all the Renault staff present.

It's a big day for the teams, because it's the launch day of Renault's other big new product of the year: the Renault 5 e-tech.

The Renault Scénic will quickly arrive in dealerships to reinforce the Mégane e-tech with a vehicle even more suitable for the family. It is available in two engines: 125 or 160 kW (i.e. 170 or 220 hp). In its entry-level version, the Scénic has a 60 kWh battery (NMC) for 420 km and its price starts from €39,990. Customers can also opt for an 87 kW battery for 620 km of range.
