[PS4] PS2-FPKG v0.7 Beta an essential tool – News and current affairs posted on LS

You who love the PlayStation 2, you who love the PlayStation 4, this is the best of both worlds, a tool that has been reborn a little from its ashes since it has been 3 years since the last update.

PS2-FPKG developed by Jabu allows you to convert games in PlayStation 2 ISO or BIN format for the PlayStation 4.

With many options, this tool allows you to personalize the FPKG including the ability to modify the game icon, the startup screen, it supports the creation of multidiscs up to 5 ISO, and to select your own text. / lua, or the choice of emulator to use.

It is easy to use, just:

– Run ps2-fpkg.exe

– Select the ISO/BIN image of the PS2 game in “Disc1”.

– Customize some settings

– Click “Create fPKG” and choose a storage location

– Install the created fPKG on your PS4 and play.

Note: For games on CD (.bin), click YES when asked to add the LIMG sector. CD games will not work without this sector. The application will automatically select a config file that usually fixes certain issues with the game, but only if it finds one in its database.

Full list of changes in v0.7-Beta:

– Everything was rewritten from scratch with cleaner, faster, less crappy code

– Some tabs have new names, some options have been moved, a FirstRun dialog has been added, etc.

– The pkg creation code no longer shows an error if the output path contains spaces (this error was an epic fail long ago in v0.6).

– The application now displays an error form with additional information when pkg creation fails

– Widescreen patches are now added as trophy_data so they no longer collide with other lua scripts

– Lua scripts for various features like fast forward, custom lightbar color and a few others have been moved to feature_data

– All game icons/splashes are now natively converted by the application, there will be no more errors on systems that didn’t like ImageMagic

– It is now possible to enable/disable “Reset on Disc Change” when changing discs.

– It is now possible to disable MTVU, which should help some games that don’t work properly with VU1 Multi-Threaded emulation (like Crash Nitro Kart, Gradius V, Timesplitters etc.)

– Added an option to disable instant VIF1 transfer, which should fix games like MK Shaolin Monks, Soul Calibur 2 and a few others.

– The application now shows if it found the txt/lua/ps3 configuration for the selected disk

– It is now possible to select a scanline shader in the graphics options.

– It is now possible to choose if you want to have a MultiTap connected

– It is now possible to lower the game volume in the settings

– Added debug/test options and a built-in configuration viewer (launch the application with the cmd -test argument)

– Lots of other things I don’t remember anymore, because everything was rewritten.
