Sony is being generous this weekend and is giving all PlayStation owners without PS Plus a gift: You can use a popular feature for free that is normally only available to paying subscribers.
PS Plus feature for free: Sony gives you a multiplayer weekend
Sony announced on Twitter that you can jump into the multiplayer of your choice on your PS4 or PS5 for free this weekend. The feature, which is usually only available to PS Plus subscribers, will from June 22, 2024 to June 23, 2024 for all PlayStation owners can be used at no extra charge.

To use the feature, you only need a PSN account and of course a PlayStation console – and you can have fun with your friends in multiplayer hits like Helldivers 2, Diablo 4 or Destiny 2.

With the free weekend Sony certainly wants to introduce many gamers to the benefits of a PS Plus subscription – but if you regularly play multiplayer mode, you obviously can't avoid the service anyway. The other big advantage of PS Plus is primarily the monthly free games, but in this regard there is always loud criticism, especially on the PS Plus Essential level, because the selection is disappointing.
Even in June 2024, Essential subscribers were more reluctant to be enthusiastic than Spongebob Squarepants: The Cosmic Shake, AEW: Fight Forever and Streets of Rage 4 when the 3 free games of the month were announced. PS Plus Extra and Premium subscribers, on the other hand, had much more reason to be happy, because with hits like Monster Hunter Rise, Anno 1800 and Far Cry 4, there were some well-known new additions this month.
