The editorial team on the move
Space! And huge windows! What kind of conditions are these? This can't be the cozy editorial dungeon. In fact, the editorial team was on the move for an event in June and thus escaped the watchful gaze of the Batman, whom we and you value so much.So welcome to the latest edition of Photos of the Month! You will also see what is being prepared for the event and of course there are other incriminating photographic evidence of the editorial team's activities in June. Enjoy!

Preparation #1
On June 1, 2024, an event was scheduled for the editorial team: Retro Gamers represented at the Retrobörse Rosenheim. This was also to be the first practical test for the counter and the 4 x 3 meter display, which were used for the Gamescom2024 were purchased – with their own design, created by layout artist Clemens. Despite initially stated delivery dates, only the chic counter arrived on time.

Jörg had also prepared subscription vouchers in advance. Because learning from the use of GG users on the Long night of computer games: Creating an account in the browser at the stand and then logging into payment services to take out a subscription is cumbersome.Purchasable voucher codes for an annual subscription were the ideal alternative: uncomplicated on site and the new subscriber immediately holds something in their hands – the voucher itself and the current issue 3/2024.

Preparation #3
Banana boxes full of magazines were also brought along. The counter, the magazines, other stand decorations and magazine stands then had to be loaded.Luckily, the editorial team also enjoyed active help from the community with this campaign. While Oliver (aka Robokopp) transports a truckload to the parking lot, Hagen sits at his desk without any shame.
When physical work is imminent, the editing of the previously recorded WoSchCa suddenly takes longer, so unfortunately he can't help. Coincidence?

Preparation #4
The boxes and two magazine racks are stacked in Langer's car. Without helpers, it would not have been possible to take so much, but a second member of the community (who will be seen shortly) brought the rest and specially contributed gifts in his own car.

Cat break #1
But before the big day dawned, the evening at the Langer house ended in the company of the family (including four-legged members). The posture of the depicted felis catus shows clearly: There is something wrong with this sofa. What is the problem?

Rosenheim-1
June 1, 2024, shortly after 9 a.m. Jörg, Hagen and helpers have arrived. Despite constant rain and despite a road layout in Rosenheim that is so confusing thanks to construction sites that even the sat navs give up.The natural shower obviously cannot dampen the mood of helper number two: Michael (aka Hermann Nasenweier).

Rosenheim #2
After the load has been successfully transported to the upper floor of the ballroom, the group works in a way they have learned from local construction sites: one person works and the others watch.

Rosenheim-3
The counter is set up, along with two stands with the current issue and the one from the previous quarter. There are also previous issues for loyal readers who are missing certain issues from their collection.
The walls are decorated with canvas prints from the editorial office and original magazine print sheets.Michael was responsible for the interactive lure. He had brought a Dreamcast with a demo disc from his collection, so that visitors could easily Jet Set Radio, Rayman2 and more games. His Atari 5200 with its Pac Man enjoy. A young-at-heart person comes along and plays a round of games.

The hall soon filled up. Relatively in the middle above you can see the back of a narrow, older Retro Gamers-Stand. Later, Jörg was supposed to turn it around and place it on a few bench boxes so that it would catch the eye of visitors one floor below.

In the background you can see GG user Restrictor81 talking to Hagen, in the front right the newest addition to the stand crew has arrived. Harald Frankel did us the honor of setting Pac-Man high scores, signing autographs and chatting. His first official act: to appear before Hagen and Michael with his cell phone camera out and ask what we are actually doing. Hagen, who has little talent for improvisation, only managed to utter incoherent sentence fragments.
Fun fact: One time, part of the family organized a prank call from a radio station as a surprise for Hagen's birthday, which he was completely overwhelmed by. - View the full image
Rosenheim-6
Layouter Clemens (far right in the picture) also visited the stand and was able to admire the design he created in action. In the end, the performance resulted in several copies sold, many nice encounters and Harald's unbeaten high score of the day. And of course four more subscribers. Let's see how it goes on the Gamescom runs, where the XXL display will hopefully attract attention – over several days with many times the number of visitors.

Coffee and cat
Since Hagen still can't rely on pets for cute photos, he has to keep thinking creatively. After a long time, the cats in the Dachau neighborhood were very camera-friendly, they have recently become less interested in photo shoots. Here he tried a harmless lure: the smell of fresh coffee to go aroused the interest of this specimen, so that the cat sat quietly in front of the lens long enough.

Cigarette in
A slightly different impression of Hagen's place of residence. What do you think this poster advertises? If the slogan “Kippe rein” sounds to you more like an offensive by the tobacco industry, then you think similarly to Hagen.
In truth, it is a command sentence construction: dump the garbage into the designated publicly accessible garbage containers.

Shadow of the Erdtree defeated!
With the final boss of Shadow of the Earthtree FromSoftware wanted to make it easier for players Elden Ring-DLC particularly difficult.Hagen spent hours grappling with the fight over several days, but with the Scadu Tree Blessing (which reduces incoming damage and increases outgoing damage) at almost the maximum level, helpful spirit ash, progress in evasive behavior and encouragement, as well as buff item tips from his buddy Franz, he finally managed to bring the hyperactive and hyper-strong boss to his knees. Praise the sun!
For spoiler reasons, the received boss memory has been obscured on the screen.

Hagen on the path of the goddess
Meanwhile, Hagen also played a title that will not be released until July: Capcom invited people in Munich to Kunitsu-Gami – Path of the Godess to take a look inside. The temperature, which felt like 100 degrees in the shade, and the problems with the subway on the way there were soon forgotten, because the interesting Japanese setting and the somewhat different tower defense gameplay made the time fly by quickly.

Moe-na Lisa Overdrive #1
This month, one user experienced the editorial offices not only through photos, but live and in color. Moritz (known in the comment columns as Moe90) had grabbed the editorial visit joker as one of the biggest supporters of the 2023 Christmas campaign.

There he stands again, the awkward Hagen, and he can't bring himself to say politely but firmly, “Get out of here, that's my place!”Just kidding, Moritz was the perfect silent witness and sometimes even a contributor to many of the tasks that day, for example he took part in the WoSchCa with Jörg that Friday. Last but not least, there was also a stimulating conversation over lunch.

Fire and Flame #1
The big barbecue for fans of GamersGlobal and Retro Gamers is getting closer and the Langer house is already busy preheating. That means that the coal is already being heated up.

Fire and Flame #2
The grill has been fired up again and again recently so that Langer's grill master is in top form on the big day. Jörg, in turn, selflessly helps to polish off the resulting grilled food.

Fire and Flame #3
One result of the warm-up: the purchase of a chimney starter, which makes it much more efficient to get the grill ready for use. Preparation is and remains the mother of the sausage box.

Area 51
If the Retro Gamers-issues are not sold at trade fairs, they still take up a lot of space in their heavy banana boxes. All the more so because some deliveries of kiosk returns were sent to the editorial office instead of being thrown away – the issues in top condition were then collected in order to meet the continuing demand for issue 2/24. Copies with minor cosmetic defects will be sold on the Gamescom can offer for sale. One day Hagen noticed that stacks of boxes were disappearing and they were never seen again. How did this happen? It soon became clear that Jörg was taking them away in a cart.

Area 52
Hagen immediately started to pursue them. Where did Jörg take the boxes? Did they end up in a hall with thousands of other boxes like the Ark of the Covenant in Indy?

Area 53
No, they end up in a small room that we have managed to acquire as storage space. It is in a rather unusual place: a currently unused ladies' restroom.
