The Radeon RX 570 with 8 GByte secures the post with the most upvotes. The GPU may be seven years old, but even in 2024 it is still a very good choice for gamers who want to immerse themselves in the world of PC gaming on a small budget.

The post author wanted specific recommendations for World of Tanks. The RX 570 is recommended for ultra settings in this game – even the version with only 4 GB of video memory is sufficient for this.

The RX 570 with eight gigabytes is still very well suited for newer games in 1080p resolution and low to medium settings. The seven-year-old graphics card also benefits from FSR upscaling, which helps with the smooth display of modern games.

Price and availability: Due to the age of the GPU, you can only get the RX 570 graphics cards used, but at very low prices. The used prices start at around 50 euros – even for the 8 GB version.

With a slight case damage, an RX 570 is currently being offered for only 37 euros (classified ad screenshot from July 4, 2024).

Possible disadvantages: AMD graphics cards of the Polaris and Vega generation no longer receive feature updates. Only critical security updates are delivered.

Second place: AMD Radeon RX 480 8GB

The eight-year-old AMD Radeon RX 480 receives the most approval after the RX 570. The performance of the two graphics cards is at a very similar level. The RX 480 has more shader units, but the RX 570 has higher clock speeds. In practice, the RX 480 is slightly faster.

This graphics card also comes in a version with four and one with eight gigabytes of video memory. We recommend that you look for the version with more VRAM. This gives you more scope for higher graphics and resolution settings.

Price and availability: Like the RX 570, you can only buy this graphics card used. The 4GB version can often be found for just 50 euros. With a little patience, you can also buy the 8GB version for this price.

Possible disadvantages: The RX480 also only receives critical security updates.

New, affordable and recommended: AMD Radeon RX 6600 8GB

If you want to buy a new graphics card, then according to the buildapc community, the Radeon RX 6600 from AMD is an excellent choice. With it, you can play many current games with high settings and FullHD resolution.

Thanks to the RDNA2 architecture, you also benefit from modern technologies such as FSR 3 with Fluid Motion Frames (generation of additional intermediate frames for a smoother gaming experience) or upscalers such as Intel XeSS.

Price and availability: You can buy the AMD Radeon RX 6600 brand new for around 200 euros.

Possible disadvantages: The RX 6600 is capable of ray tracing, but the performance penalty is very large and not worth it. If ray tracing is particularly important to you, you should dig a little deeper into your pockets and buy an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 or 4070.
