Palworld undergoes dramatic transformation: A fresh direction is taking shape

Pocketpair has been a big hit with players with Palworld. However, the game could undergo significant changes in the future, as the developer recently hinted.

Will Palworld be like Ark or Rust in the future?

At the time of writing, 90 percent of Steam players recommend Palworld (view now on Steam). The reason for this is, for example, the diverse playing stylesthat the game offers. Players can choose to live peacefully alongside the mysterious creatures known as Pals, let them work for them, sell them or even eat them – the possibilities are almost endless.

However, Pocketpair CEO Takuro Mizobe has a completely different idea for the game and the foundation for this was recently laid with the extremely extensive Sakurajima update. The expansion introduced a new island, new buildings, a new level cap and much more. Furthermore, players can PvP Arena Mode – but if Mizobe has his way, it won't stop there.

He revealed to Game File that the Arena mode was a kind of experiment, but that he had much bigger ambitions for the multiplayer mode. “My dream is to have a real PvP mode in Palworld I want to play more in the style of Ark or Rust,” said the CEO (source: Game File).

However, it is not yet clear whether and when the game will develop further in this direction.

Palworld is not for the Nintendo Switch

So far, the open-world survival game is available on PC and Xbox. Many fans would certainly like a mobile version, but the Steam Deck has already reached its limits with this game. A port to the Nintendo Switch would therefore be difficult for technical reasonsas Takuro Mizobe confirmed.

However, the studio still seems to have a console in mind. The community manager recently hinted at plans for a PlayStation version of the game:
