In a press release published on June 25Playground Games has shared some very bad news: from December 15, 2024, we will no longer be able to buy Forza Horizon 4 on Steam or the Xbox Store. It will also disappear from Xbox Game Pass. This is not the studio's intention, but the consequence of the expiration of rights and licenses on certain content that does not belong to Microsoft.

The same thing ultimately happens to Forza Horizon 4 than to Forza Motorsport 7 in 2021. At the time, Turn 10 Studios explained: “ Forza games can no longer be released after several years due to the expiration of the third-party licenses we use for cars, tracks, and other real-world based elements. »

While waiting for the fateful date of December 15, Playground Games and Microsoft are working on initiatives to allow everyone to collect a copy of Forza Horizon 4 inexpensively. Thus, promotions are organized (It's €13.99 on Steam, with an 80% discount), while Xbox Game Pass subscribers will receive a code to redeem the full version (if they have spent money on the game).

Rest assured, commercial unavailability does not mean that Forza Horizon 4 will no longer be playable at all.
