Amazon Games is working on a new “Tomb Raider” and a “Lord of the Rings” game. The details will soon be revealed.
A few years ago, those responsible at Amazon Games announced that new games for well-known brands such as “Tomb Raider” and “The Lord of the Rings” were in the works. However, they have not yet been able to reveal too many details about the projects.

Now Christoph Hartmann, Vice President of Amazon Games, has confirmed in a recent interview with colleagues at Variety that initial information on both titles is “not too far away”.
Amazon Games asks for a little more patience
Although the details are not yet available, fans can be sure that both “Tomb Raider” and “The Lord of the Rings” will continue to be developed.
“It won't be tomorrow, but it's not too far away. As I said, we're looking at a much more regular cadence of game releases. That's all I can say at this point.”

Instead of throwing the games onto the market too early, the publisher is currently concentrating on quality. They don't want to rush anything, as they want to conjure up AAA quality on the screen. After all, the bar in the industry has been set so incredibly high these days.
Among other things, the latest “Tomb Raider” installment is currently in development at Crystal Dynamics. In December 2022, those responsible had already announced that Amazon Games would take over distribution of the title.

Nevertheless, the studio still belongs to the Embracer Group. And last year it was also affected by the layoffs that the parent company made as part of a restructuring. At the time, Crystal Dynamics confirmed that its own projects were not affected.
According to the report, neither the latest Lara Croft adventure nor “Perfect Dark” have been affected. The shooter is in development in collaboration with The Initiative for the Xbox Series X/S and PC. The title was released a few weeks ago as part of the Xbox Game Showcase presented in detail.
