Hideo Kojima is no longer involved in the “Metal Gear” series. But what if the old team came together again? It would be a dream come true.
The “Metal Gear” series was once created under the creative direction of Hideo KojimaAfter disputes with Konami, he left the publisher almost ten years ago and founded his own studio.

In the course of the dispute, Kojima’s project at the time “Silent Hills” canceled and the team behind the “Metal Gear” series disbanded. Konami is now working on “Metal Gear” games again and the producer responsible has a wish that many fans probably share.
Konami producer would “rather do nothing”
Noriaki Okamura, the producer of the “Metal Gear” series, expressed his desire to work with Hideo Kojima and more of the developers of the original again. It would be a dream come true. However, he does not believe that Kojima and his former colleagues share this wish.
When asked if there was a realistic chance that the original staff would work on “Metal Gear” again, said Okamura: “It's not my place to answer for anyone outside the company or to guess how they might feel about it. But personally, I would love nothing more than to work with Mr. Kojima and the rest of the team again. If that could happen, it would be a dream.”
Everything rests on Konami’s shoulders
However, people have moved on to new things and taken on other commitments. That is the current reality. One cannot simply assume that everyone will work with Konami on “Metal Gear” again.

The producer added: “I just don't think it's right that we're the ones who are making that kind of demand of someone. So we work with the expectation that everything we do depends on us, that it's on our shoulders to do a good job.”
Okamura also emphasized that numerous members of the original development team of “Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater” are already working on the upcoming remake.
He himself was the producer of several “Metal Gear” spin-offs, including “Metal Gear Acid 2”, “Metal Gear Solid: Digital Graphic Novel”, “Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops”, “Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops Plus” and “Metal Gear Survive”.
