An adventurer who has the wind in her sails!
It seems that one of the greatest icons of video games is coming back to the forefront more than ever. After Netflix announced the arrival of Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft, an animated series scheduled for October 10, and Amazon declared that it was in full preparation of a live-action Tomb Raider series, it's Dead by Daylight's turn to welcome Lara Croft with open arms. It will arrive on July 16 during update 8.1.0. The multiplayer survival horror made the announcement official via a post on X.
Here, Lara Croft will have to put her survivalist skills to the test. Players were already aware of his arrival, thanks to a leaked promotional image of the character. Other Internet users noticed the fact that Behavior Interactive, the studio behind Dead by Daylight, had followed the Crystal Dynamics account that owns Tomb Raider, suggesting that something was going on in the shadows.
Everyone is here
Already available on the test servers, Lara Croft brings with her 3 new survivor skills: finesse, specialist and hardened. Each transcribes the qualities of the adventurous archaeologist, allowing her, for example, to jump obstacles more quickly or to better repair the generators present on the map. Each new franchise character takes on new abilities, very often, linked to their abilities and their universe. The Behavior Interactive license is not its first collaboration. If the game offers original survivors and killers, it is also possible to play characters from licenses such as Ash Williams from Evil Dead, Leon Scott Kennedy from Resident Evil 4 or more recently Alan Wake.
Despite the arrival of Lara Croft in Dead by Daylight, Behavior Interactive recently announced its intention to lay off 95 employees. The studio declared following this announcement that it wanted to become “the leader in horror” and this must happen through “multiple strategic changes in its structure”. We remind you, on December 9, 2023, the studio behind Dead by Daylight and Supermassive Games presented their brand new horrific narrative game The Cast of Frank Stone during Geoff Keighley's show. This will take place in the Dead by Daylight universe.
