New Amap AutoSDK 750 Release Features Linkage between Driver and Co-Driver Screens, Lane-Level Navigation 5.0, and More

Gamingdeputy reported on June 18 that AutoNavi Maps released AutoSDK 750 for the automotive industry today, introducing a series of new features to meet the new challenges of the new energy and intelligent era.Including new functions such as new energy navigation function, weekend travel assistant on the co-pilot screen, seamless connection between hands and cars, true lane-level navigation 5.0, multi-scenario lane-level warning function, and scene engine quick departure.

Jiang Rui, vice president of AutoNavi Maps, introduced several new challenges in the era of new energy and intelligence:

  • Diversity of choices and standards:Each car manufacturer has a different definition of charging preferences, and almost every brand needs its own customized charging pile standard. Users have their own understanding and preferences for routes and charging piles, and the selection criteria or guidance vary greatly.

  • The external environment has a great impact:External environment such as temperature, speed, slope, etc. have a great impact on energy consumption. Due to inconsistent source data and inconsistent strategies, the new energy navigation experience on some models will be inconsistent with that on mobile phones.

  • Intelligent positioning needs to be further clarified:The responsibilities of the main driver's seat, co-pilot's seat, and HUD screen are different, which means that the display content and form will be quite different. How these screens are connected to mobile phones needs to be further clarified.

Based on this background, Amap has released a comprehensive solution based on AutoSDK 750 for the automotive industry. The specific functions are as follows:

1,New Energy Navigation

The system has built-in charging pile data, which provides users with more personalized type screening and search recommendation functions. During route planning and navigation, it supports arbitrary adjustment of “alternative charging stations”, user setting of charging pile selection preferences/blacklisting charging piles, and alternative routes. The data and algorithms are kept unified to ensure a consistent experience between the mobile phone and the car.

2. Weekend travel assistant on the co-pilot screen

The co-pilot screen and the main driver's screen are interactively linked, and the co-pilot screen will display the entire journey, making the co-pilot a good assistant to the main driver.

3. Cart Internet

  • Walking continuation is possible. After arriving at the destination, the parking location is automatically recorded in the AutoNavi mobile app, and the mobile app seamlessly initiates walking navigation continuation. On the return trip, the parking location record can be used to quickly navigate to the car.

  • The seamless interconnection function supports more effective mutual discovery between the car computer and the AutoNavi mobile app, prompting users to scan and log in from the mobile phone to achieve connection. It can realize functions such as viewing POIs on the mobile phone, and automatically initiating navigation after planning the route.

4. Lane Level Navigation 5.0

In terms of effects, some modeling elements have been reconstructed (such as roads and bridges), the blurring effects of occluded scenes such as upper roads have been upgraded, and corresponding rendering lighting effects have been added based on the understanding of spatial relationships.

In terms of efficiency, new information on alternative routes, prompts for lane changes, and guidance information noise reduction have been added to enhance the transmission of beyond-visual-range information while taking into account the balance of elements on the guidance interface.

In terms of performance, special effects that do not improve the effect so obviously but consume a lot of performance are downgraded. Based on historical experience, Amap configures three types of effects: high, medium and low to cope with performance challenges on different hardware.

5. Multi-scenario warning

In blind spots on curves and unlit intersections, risk warnings are given through voice and images when there are vehicles coming from the opposite direction or at the intersection. Amap will optimize the triggering timing and use a multi-source approach to achieve larger-scale coverage.

6. Scene Engine

Based on travel data, the user's travel purpose is predicted and prompted on the car map. The user can directly click on the navigation to set off quickly.
