Must-Have Apps for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games

In Paris this summer, applications will be essential for getting around, following the results of events or attending competitions. Here is a selection of the best applications to install on your smartphone.

With the Olympic Games, the lives of Parisians will be turned upside down. For several weeks, the Île-de-France region will vibrate to the rhythm of the biggest sporting event in the world. Millions of tourists will travel to Paris specifically for the occasion, with the risk of being quickly disoriented by traffic jams, public transport and the intensity of the capital.

Public Transport Paris 2024: navigation and metro tickets

In Paris as elsewhere, applications like Google Maps, Apple Maps and Waze are essential. They will obviously be adapted to the event sites during the Olympic Games, with real-time information on public transport and traffic.

In addition to these applications, we advise you to download Transport Public Paris 2024 on your smartphone, since it is the official service for monitoring the state of the network during the Olympics. One of its functions is to distribute visitors on different lines to avoid major congestion, so as not to spend hours waiting for a metro on the platform. It also allows you to record your events in advance, to anticipate a departure.

Another function which makes Transport Public Paris 2024 essential, the application allows you to buy metro tickets or Paris 2024 passes directly on your smartphone, whether it is an iPhone or an Android terminal.

Paris 2024 Tickets: a digital wallet

If you have tickets for one or more Olympic events, the Paris 2024 Tickets application is required. It serves as a digital passport to obtain information about your events and to have a QR Code to enter the stadium once you arrive there. The Olympic Games have chosen to rely only on this electronic version.

RainToday: the best app for rain in Paris

Generally, it is hot in Paris in the summer. Unfortunately, rain can spoil the party, often in small episodes lasting tens of minutes, which make planning your day quite complicated. This is where RainToday is interesting.

Much more reliable than systems built into other weather apps, RainToday shows when it's going to rain and, with a precipitation map, helps guess when the rain will stop. We don't want rain during the Olympic Games, but we can only recommend the app just in case.

Olympic Games – Paris 2024: the official application of the Olympic Games

Let's be honest, the official app interface Olympic Games – Paris 2024 is complicated. The tabs are not labeled, the application mixes up a lot of things (news, map, results) and it is not always easy to find your way around. In any case, given the many sports offered during the Olympics, there is not yet an equivalent for following the results of your favorite sports.

During the Olympic Games, this application will allow you to consult your country's performances (and the medal rankings) in real time from its “Results” tab. It is obviously essential for anyone interested in the Olympic Games (even if we hope to be able to replace it with a third-party application quickly).
