Elden Ring is famous for its extensive open world with many stories and backgrounds. Enough material for a film and the studio would be quite interested in this, as lead developer Hidetaka Miyazaki recently revealed in an interview (source: The Guardian).

He would see no reason to refuse a different interpretation or adaptation of Elden Ring. However, he admits that FromSoftware would probably lack the technical knowledge and capabilities to make a film. Here, they would have to rely on strong partners “But the interest is definitely there,” says Miyazaki.

So far there are no official plansSo it remains to be seen whether an Elden Ring film will actually be made.

Size of Elden Ring is the limit for FromSoftware

Hidetaka Miyazaki also spoke about the future of the company in the interview. He emphasized that the budgets and scope of their games have now reached a point where failure is less tolerated than before. Although Elden Ring is an important milestone, Miyazaki sees no possibility of future projects increasing in size and scope:

Where FromSoftware is at right now in terms of scope, I would say Elden Ring is really the limit. We've exhausted all the resources and talent we have access to.

The studio does not currently see its future in developing a game that surpasses Elden Ring, but according to Miyazaki it plans to give younger talent the reins in the future. smaller projects which could result in smaller games like Sekiro or Bloodborne. However, there are no official plans yet.
