Next year, players will be able to experience the past adventures of a group of friends in “Mixtape.” Following the Xbox announcement, the PS5 trailer is available.
“Mixtape” was to the games presented at the Xbox Games Showcase. The trailer released at the same time contained only references to Xbox and PCwhich left the impression that PlayStation players would be left empty-handed.

Annapurna Interactive spoke up shortly afterwards and clarified that “Mixtape” would also be released for the PS5. After two days of waiting, the first trailer labeled with the PS5 landed online. It is initially visible on the PlayStation Australia YouTube channel (and below these lines) and again refrains from mentioning Xbox and PC.
A mixtape full of memories
Publisher Annapurna Interactive and developer Beethoven & Dinosaur plan to release “Mixtape” next year for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. After the launch, players will experience a story in which four friends embark on a final adventure together on their last night of high school.
As they en route to their graduation ceremony, they are drawn into dreamlike reenactments of their formative memories by a “carefully curated playlist.”
Players dive into “Mix Tape” into various narrative scenes that reflect crucial moments in the high school students' lives so far. They are the most important highlights of teenage friendship, from the first kiss to the last dance.

Nostalgic aimlessness, mischief and music
When developing “Mixtape”, Melbourne studio Beethoven & Dinosaur, which previously made a name for itself with “The Artful Escape”, was inspired by classic coming-of-age films.
“It combines nostalgic aimlessness, mischief, music, the ups and downs of adolescence and the bittersweet feelings that come from growing, changing and moving on,” say the creators.
The whole thing is accompanied by music from DEVO, Roxy Music, Lush, The Smashing Pumpkins, Iggy Pop, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Joy Division and other artists.
“Skating. Partying. Dodging the law. Making out. Sneaking out. Hanging out. Playing a mixtape full of memories set to the soundtrack of a generation,” it says.
