Lost Records, the new DON'T NOD game, is postponed because of Life is Strange | Xbox

Known most recently for Jusant and Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden, DON'T NOD has mainly stood out this last decade with the Life is Strange franchise and was about to return to this formula with Lost Records: Bloom & Rage. Unfortunately, we now discover that the game is delayed, and the reason is rather funny.

Lost Records is postponed, because of Life Strange

Announced last December, the title was to be released at the end of 2024, but we learned today via a press release that it has been pushed back to early 2025 in order to give the game the attention it deserves after a “thorough evaluation of the recent industry trends and developments.

After a thorough assessment of recent industry trends and developments, it has been decided to slightly delay the release of Lost Records: Bloom & Rage in order to ensure a successful launch and give the game the attention it deserves. This new release window makes way for Lost Records: Bloom & Rage. This additional time will be used by the team to provide an additional finishing layer.

The release of Life is Strange: Double Exposure, scheduled for October 29, is likely one of the main reasons for this postponement; Oskar Guilbert, CEO of DON'T NOD, mentions in particular “that it is essential to give these two games the necessary space to shine”:

We know that many of our fans are eagerly awaiting this game, just as they are awaiting the recently announced next installment of Life is Strange. It is essential that we give both games the space they need to shine. We firmly believe that the wait will be worth it. We look forward to sharing this new adventure with you and are confident that it will mark a memorable new chapter in the DON'T NOD universe.

As a reminder, Lost Records: Bloom & Rage is a narrative adventure game retracing the friendship of a group of four high school girls during the summer of 1995 in Velvet Cove.

We should find a gaming experience quite similar to that offered by Life is Strange and it is therefore quite logical that the company does not want to find itself in confrontation with the new episode of the franchise developed by Deck Nine Games.

Lost Records: Bloom & Rage will be available on Xbox Series X|S, PS5 and PC in early 2025 and the studio will be checking back with us throughout the summer to learn more about the title.
