It seems that fans of the extremely successful “Tales of” series can look forward to a new game soon. At least, the evidence is mounting.

The fans' calls for another game are getting louder almost every day. It seems that this request has not gone unheard by Bandai Namco.
How successful is the Tales series actually?
The Tales series is now almost 30 years old, The big anniversary is therefore imminent. “Tales of Phantasia” was the first action role-playing game in 1995 of the still very popular franchise on the market.
A multitude of other titles and spin-offs followed, bringing the total to almost 20 Tales games so far. By 2023, the Tales series had sold a total of around 29 million copies worldwide – a truly impressive number. But that was probably far from the end of the story.
When will the next game in the Tales series be released?
There are currently increasing indications that publisher Bandai Namco is preparing to announce another game in the Tales series. The 30th anniversary next year would in principle be the ideal time for such a release.

The statements made by a Bandai Namco spokesperson at a recent shareholders' meeting suggest that something is actually afoot in this regard: “There are some things I am not allowed to talk about here. But please look forward to future announcements on the official website.”
This statement is by no means the same as the official confirmation of a new game in the Tales series. But the direct reference to a certain degree of secrecy alone gives us at least some clues.

Bandai Namco will be attending this year's Anime Expo, which will take place from July 4th to 8th, 2024 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. In principle, this would be a suitable setting to announce a new game. If this is actually the case, we should already know a little more next week.
