The Hamburg-based online and mobile games developer InnoGames promotes Sebastian Goldt to Chief Marketing Officer.

Personnel upgrade for the top management of InnoGames GmbH: New to the management team around the founding trio Hendrik Klindworth (CEO), Michael Zillmer (COO) and Eike Klindworth (Creative Director) is Sebastian Goldt, who started as Product Marketing Manager in 2012 and has thus worked for the studio for more than a decade – most recently as Director of Growth. Goldt succeeds Felix Janzen, who is looking for a new role outside the computer games industry.

In his new role, Goldt is responsible for all marketing activities related to classics such as Forge of Empires, The Tribes or Elvenar and the new brands Rise of Cultures and Sunrise Village.

Co-founder and managing director Hendrik Klindworth: “Sebastian has been an important part of our team for over twelve years and has become a real pillar of our marketing. His achievements in the development and introduction of future-proof tracking systems as well as his success in building effective teams in the areas of user acquisition and growth are particularly impressive. We are absolutely convinced that Sebastian is the perfect successor to Felix.”

Chief Marketing Officer Sebastian Goldt: “The internal conditions for me to start in the new position could hardly be better: we have an incredibly committed and experienced marketing team, very successful games on the market and promising titles in the pipeline. However, these enormous advantages are met with an increasingly difficult marketing environment. The key to success will be to continue to align marketing in such a way that player acquisition is ensured – at a reasonable cost. This will be my focus for the foreseeable future.”

With a turnover of €187 million (financial year 2022) and currently 350 employees, InnoGames continues to be one of the largest game developers in Germany – the main revenue generator remains Forge of Empireswhich has grossed more than €1 billion since 2012. In 2020, the Swedish games group Modern Times Group (MTG) acquired the majority of InnoGames shares.
