How to Unlock the Northeast of the DLC Map in Elden Ring

As the main card ofElden Ring, the new DLC region has its share of difficult to access areas. The northeastern part of the Shadow Realm, for example.

The environments of Shadow of the Erdtreethe extension ofElden Ring, constitute its greatest success (unlike the bosses, considered too difficult and unbalanced by some). The architecture imagined by FromSoftware is sensational, especially since the Japanese studio has again thought about integrating secret areas, which are difficult to access.

The northeastern part of the Shadow Realm, for example, is not easy to reach. The map, once all the fragments are recovered, shows connections—geographical—with certain places, but nothing works. To enter this area, you have to follow a convoluted path, as is the case in Elden Ring.

How to get to the hinterland of the DLC ofElden Ring ?

The Kingdom of Shadows offers to explore several fortresses. One of them is called the Black Castle — home to the infamous Messmer. Labyrinthine, the building will eventually take you to the back door (a particularly strong boss will be waiting for you there). Before leaving the Black Castle, you will notice a corridor with, at the end, a statue of Queen Marika (who is decapitated). “ Feel sorry for the missing shamans », We can read on a tablet placed on the ground.

The room offers absolutely no mechanism, but we suspect that the statue can be moved. The solution is not obvious: you have to use an emote right in front of her so that she slides to the right and opens access to the hinterland of the Kingdom of Shadows.

Obviously, it would be too simple to use just any emote. We must activate the one called “O mother”. It is located in another location on the map, north of the village of Bonny (see screenshots below). Once in your possession, you will only have to use the emote in front of the statue to unlock the path and discover a 100% optional area.

What does the hinterland hold? A flamboyant artistic direction, to begin with. Next, you will face some enemies who may bring back memories ofElden Ring. You may come across a powerful item (the “Golden Braid”, which “ incredibly improves resistance to holy damage “). You will finally be able to complete a quest given by an NPC, among other fascinating discoveries. On the other hand, there are no fire giants to fight.
