With some delay, developers have released the new Helldivers 2 Patch 1.000.404 played on the servers. Like last time, it is only a small update that fixes the most pressing bugs like the broken ship module “Optimized Packaging Methodology” and the endless loading screen during Hellpod landing. Helldivers 2 Patch Notes: What’s in Update 1.000.404

The new Helldivers 2 Update 1.000.404 is – like last week – just a tiny update that doesn't bring any new features, but “only” improves game stability and fixes the most critical bugs. This includes the currently hated loading screen of the Hellpod landing, which got stuck in an endless loop for some players, but also the seemingly never-ending bug that caused the game to crash after changing settings and which should have been fixed several times already… hopefully it will be this time. Bug and crash fixes

  • The ship module upgrade “Optimized Packaging Methodology” has been fixed (technically the bug was fixed on the server side and has been working since July 1st).
  • Fixed crashes and glitches that occurred when entering a mission.
  • Fixed cases where players would get stuck on the Hellpod loading screen.
  • Fixed a crash that occurred after changing settings (this really should be fixed this time, the last fix didn't work and we sent the engineer responsible to an above-ground re-education camp).

Known bugs and issues

The Helldivers 2 Update 1.000.404 is a very small patch that only addresses a few issues. Accordingly, the development department still has a number of well-known problems on its to-do list, some of which have been causing trouble for a long time and are still waiting to be resolved. The developers are working on the following known (and hopefully soon-to-be-fixed) errors and problems:

  • Deployed mines can sometimes become invisible (but remain active).
  • There may be delays in the payout of medals and excess credits.
  • Enemies that bleed out do not count toward progress on personal orders and extermination missions.
  • Bow weapons sometimes behave inconsistently and sometimes fail to fire their shot.
  • Most weapons will shoot under the crosshairs when you aim through their sights.
  • The Tactical Equipment Beam can stick to an enemy, but it will be deployed at its original position.
  • The Handcart Ship Module does not reduce the cooldown of the Shield Generator Backpack.
  • Acid Titans sometimes do not take any damage to the head.
  • Players may get stuck in the equipment phase when joining an ongoing game.
  • Reinforcements are sometimes unavailable to players joining a game in progress.
  • At the end of each defense mission, the liberation of the planet reaches 100%.
  • The Raise the Flag Above Earth mission objective does not display a progress bar.
  • The number of missions in the Career menu will reset to zero each time you restart the game.
  • Some weapon descriptions are outdated and do not correspond to their current design.
  • Personal commands may not display correctly. (Kill 5!)

Known issues with friend invites and cross-play:

  • Sending friend requests via friend code in the game does not currently work.
  • There may be times when players cannot be added or invited to the game.
  • Players added to the Recent Players list will appear in the middle of the list.
