One of the major PS5 exclusives of 2024 will be available for free just before launch. Here's how to take advantage, even if you haven't pre-ordered the game.
The end of the year on PS5 should be promising with Astro Bot and LEGO Horizon Adventures. Two games that will attract a wider, more family-oriented audience than usual, while potentially attracting hardened players. On October 8, Sony Interactive Entertainment and Konami will thrill survival horror fans again with Silent Hill 2 Remake. A great program, but the Japanese manufacturer will also occupy the field this summer.

A 100% original PS5 exclusive to test for a few days
It's not easy to release games in the middle of summer, but Sony Interactive Entertainment will still give it a try and perhaps repeat the success of Helldivers 2 – or not. The Japanese firm will indeed continue its efforts to break into the world of service games with a new exclusive PS5 and PC franchise: Concord. An Overwatch-style hero shooter that reminded players of Guardians of the Galaxy when it was revealed. The game will be available simultaneously on PlayStation 5 and PC on August 23, 2024 at a price of €39.99. And the good news is that everyone will be able to test it before the official launch.
Concord will soon roll out its early access beta, for those who pre-order the title, and its open beta. The two phases will take place a few days apart on PS5 and PC. To start, here are the dates of these trials:
- Concord Early Access Beta: July 12-14, 2024. By pre-ordering the PS5 and PC game, you will get up to 5 codes. One for you and four more for friends. The offer is valid with any edition of the game and you do not need to purchase the Deluxe Edition
- Concord Open Beta: July 18-21, 2024
The other element to remember is that crossplay between the PS5 and the PC will be activated from the early Concord beta. A good way for Firewalk Studios to identify possible problems with a feature that has become essential.
Concord Beta Content (Game Modes, Maps)
The two beta phases of Concord on PS5 and PC will therefore take place next July. If you take the plunge, you'll have 16 characters to choose from called the Freegunners. “It doesn’t matter if you like to attack aggressively, defend a position, take down enemies from afar or support your team. The available Freegunners are suited to a variety of playstyles and experience” (via PlayStation Blog). You can select the one that best suits your playing style, then go and face other players on four different maps:

- Libronde
- Aquatic hazards
- Stellar Chamber
- Electrical risks
- Bone Mines (only during open beta)
Finally, the Concord betas on PS5 & PC will also feature four game modes:
- Trophy hunting : elimination of the opposing team to collect bonus cards, which allow you to earn points. The team with the highest score wins
- Recovery : a mode where it is not possible to reappear. You must escort a means of transport, the “Blue Courier”, then bring it to an area and defend it to win the game
- Occupation : same no reappearance. It's zone capture… but with a single location in the center of the map
- Zone controls (only during the open beta): players can respawn. This is the capture of different points, and you must control at least two for the point counter to activate. The team with the highest score wins
