Anyone who wants to attend Gamescom 2024 for professional reasons will definitely need a trade visitor ticket.

Update as of July 2, 2024: The entrance prices for the Gamescom Congress 2024 on August 22nd, which will be held for the first time in the newly built Confex, are now available: The regular ticket costs €103 – teachers and students benefit from the 'reduced' day ticket for €38.

Important: The Congress Ticket entitles not to access the Business Area (and vice versa). This means that you need a separate ticket for both formats – the once common combination packages are no longer available. The entrance tickets are only via the official online shop expelled.

Message from March 21, 2024: Strictly speaking, the term 'trade visitor' is no longer technically correct, as the official documents now refer to 'trade visitors' and consequently 'trade visitor tickets'.

In terms of content, nothing changes: If you are neither an exhibitor nor a journalist and want to visit the Business Area in addition to the public area (Entertainment Area), you will need a separate ticket: With the trade visitor ticket you can switch seamlessly between the Entertainment Area and the Business Area.

The Business Area is open on Wednesday (21 August, trade visitor and media day) from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. – and on Thursday (22 August) and Friday (23 August) daily from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Similar to the entrance tickets for end consumers, the tickets for trade visitors have also become more expensive: The day ticket (valid on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday) now costs €64.50 – the organizers charge €127 for the three-day ticket. Anyone who wants to join in the hustle and bustle on the weekend also pays the same prices as private visitors, namely €39 on Saturday (24.8.) and €29.50 on Sunday (25.8.).

Important: The tickets are sold exclusively via the official online shop of the Koelnmesse. Please be particularly careful when booking tickets, as purchased trade visitor tickets cannot be returned, exchanged or cancelled.

The question remains: who actually counts as a trade visitor? In order to gain access to the inner sanctum of the games industry, you need proof that will be checked by the organizer. The permitted industries include games (studios, publishers, distributors, service providers), film, music and entertainment in the broadest sense, as well as the hardware, telecommunications and media segments, as well as market researchers, trade, government institutions, associations, e-sports organizations and universities with games courses. Proof of identity can be provided by a dealer, extract from the commercial register or trade license.

For further information on the specific requirements, please contact on the Gamescom website.

The trade visitor ticket also entitles not to participate in the opening show Opening Night Live on Tuesday (20.8.) nor in the exhibitor party on Thursday (22.8.).

Please note: Journalists, media professionals, content creators and influencers require accreditation instead of a trade visitor pass. You can find further information in this article.
