Another traditional company gets an international owner: Nodwin acquires all shares of Freaks 4U Gaming GmbH.

A minority shareholding of 13.5 percent becomes a complete takeover: Nodwin Gaming International PTE Ltd. in Singapore is buying all shares in Freaks 4U Gaming GmbH, based in the Berlin district of Spandau. The package has a total value of up to €30.3 million and will be handled in the form of a share swap – meaning: All existing investors in Freaks 4U Gaming will become shareholders in Nodwin.

In the first step, Nowdin will hold the majority of 57 percent – the remaining share of 43 percent, which is owned by managing director Michael Haenisch, Matthias Remmert (Senior Vice President Product, TV & Media Productions) and co-founder Jens Enders, will be transferred to the new owner at a later date.

The established brand Freaks 4U Gaming will be retained – the company itself will also operate independently. Nodwin, an e-sports organizer and marketer active in Southeast Asia, has been involved in Freaks 4U Gaming since December 2023. Both companies are already cooperating on joint projects such as the PUBG Mobile Global Open and the Esports World Cup, which will be hosted by the royal family in the Saudi capital Riyadh on July 3.

The fact that such or a similar agreement could be reached had already been indicated in the latest Freaks 4U annual report. Only on Wednesday it was announced that the agency had to let go of another 25 employees due to the complicated market environment: With 120 employees and a turnover of €38 million, the company, founded in 2002, is still considered one of the largest full-service agencies in the e-sports and games segment in German-speaking countries. One of its closest partners is the League of Legends studio Riot Games.
