Epic Games has prepared something heavy for Fortnite Chapter 5! The new features are now known, and the game will radically change with the arrival of major changes and completely new experiences that place the title a little more like a platform rather than a game in its own right.
Fortnite Chapter 5 announced, big changes in sight!
Epic Games had some technical problems announcing Chapter 5 of Fortnite, eagerly awaited by fans of the game. But the game was worth it since it is a small revolution that is brewing in Fortnite with the arrival of experiences completely new and a strong partnership with LEGO.

Season 1 of Chapter 5 is called Subversion (Underground in English) and is based on a relatively simple pitch: “The Order is secretly pulling the strings and has captured Banana. Join the Subversives and defeat the bosses of the Order, including the famous Valeria. To help you, take the train, modify your weapons and use a gun with a ballistic shield. »
Among the new features brought to the new map Helioswe note certain particularities seen in the launch trailer:
- Ritzy Riviera is a marina in the West of the map
- The northwest is occupied by a boreal forest with the Rebel’s Roost mansion

LEGO Fortnite and Rocket Racing are coming!
Two big new features were announced during Chapter 5, and now place Fortnite as a gaming platform such as Roblox, which is enjoying immense success.
LEGO Fortnite releases on December 7, 2023. It is a new gaming experience within Fortnite, separate from the classic modes. LEGO Fortnite is a crafting and survival game that lives within Fortnite. For the occasion, Epic Games is releasing more than 1,200 Fortnite skins in LEGO mode in a free version, a partnership that will last as other skins will be offered subsequently.

Rocket Racing releases on December 8, 2023. As the video shows, this is a racing game within Fortnite. Rocket Racing is an arcade racing game where players can drift, soar, and race with their friends through a regularly expanded selection of tracks. The game is developed by Psyonix, the team behind Rocket League.
New gameplay features confirmed for Fortnite Chapter 5
Some leaks were right. Epic Games has confirmed some of the new features expected for this new chapter of Fortnite. We learn that 5 bosses are on the island: Oscar, Nisha, Montaigu, Valéria and Peter Griffin from the series The Griffins. Each boss will drop a medallion of the Order once defeated. Keep this medallion in your inventory to regenerate your shield over time. The more medallions you have, the faster your shield will regenerate.
The section Car is a new section of the locker. The Car section contains three new types of locker items: Chassis, Stickers, and Wheels. All players can find the Rocket League Constructor wheels in their locker now. With a chassis and wheels, you have everything you need for your car. Chassis, stickers and wheels offer no competitive advantage. The sports car will maintain the appearance of your car for the entire game in Fortnite Battle Royale or on a compatible creator island.
A new weapon is coming, the ballistic shield with gun included. Defend yourself with the shield and shoot the gun at the same time. The ballistic shield has infinite HP, but it will be temporarily unusable if it takes too much damage.
Other weapons are available in Fortnite Chapter 5, find the specialized Striker shotgun, the sticky cluster grenade, the Fury automatic shotgun, the Rival assault rifle, the Striker assault rifle, the Thunder burst submachine gun, the Hyper submachine gun, the Reaper sniper rifle and the Predator pistol. But the big news is the arrival of a grappling hook ! Aim at a solid surface or another player, and grab onto your target! If you grapple onto a player, attack with the blade to deal damage.
Big novelty, it is now possible to apply mods to weapons ! This happens at the modification workbenches which are located in the vaults and allow you to modify weapons for ingots. The rarer the weapon, the more it can be modified. A legendary weapon will have four possible modifications.
Victory is not the only objective during a game. Chapter 5 – Season 1 offers you party quests. At the start of each game, you will have the choice of three game quests which will expire at the end of the game. Party Quests replace Daily Quests to give you the opportunity to complete the objectives you care about with fewer distractions during combat.
Peter Griffin and Solid Snake are present as Big Bang Battle Pass skins, but Solid Snake will arrive later. Unlock rewards in Fortnite by earning EXP in Battle Royale, on Creator Islands, or in LEGO Fortnite, Rocket Racing, and Fortnite Festival. The Big Bang Battle Pass costs 950 V-Bucks and contains outfits, the Scorpion car chassis, and more. Progress through the Battle Pass to unlock more outfits:
- Oscar, the predator.
- The other hope of the Subversives, vengeful Jones.
- The honorable duelist Nisha.
- Montague and his nerves of steel.
- Peter Griffin, ready to hit the mark.
- Valéria, who likes to play with fire.
Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1 will last three months, until Friday March 8, 2024 at 8:00 a.m.
