Exciting Update Released: Get Ready to Return to the Game

Released in very early access since May 6, Hades 2 receives its third patch which turns out to be as massive as Mount Olympus, with a host of changes at all levels.

If it does not fundamentally add new features like its previous major patch, this one drastically changes the gameplay of Hades 2 via many adjustments and balancing. Supergiant Games also took the opportunity to refine the game interface and correct many bugs. Here is a summary of the changes made to the very promising indie game, courtesy of Hermes.

A giant new patch for Hades 2

Like the first Hades of the name, the second opus arrived in early access on May 6. Not content with already being more titanic than its elder, it is still far from having taken its final form. The talented independent studio Supergiant Games wants to take advantage of early access to make Hades its “ best and biggest game yet », with the help of the community. This results in patches that drastically change the gaming experience, partly thanks to player feedback, like the one that interests us here. In the more or less near future, another major update will add content to complete the story of Mélinoé.

Thus, the third patch of Hades 2 “just” brings many adjustments and balancing. Among the most notable, we have the fact that the Duo (involving two deities) and Legendary Boons are now offered more often. The different Aspects of the weapons also benefit from several improvements. Same observation for the Altar of Ashes with its card system bringing us powerful bonuses in our runs, which has been greatly reworked. Finally, the Cauldron of the Crossroads receives new particularly powerful recipes. We will particularly remember those granting respectively health, armor or an additional level for a random Benefit by collecting Ashes, Psyche, Bones or Nectar. All Boons in the game are also receiving adjustments, mostly to increase their effectiveness.

Mélinoé refines her divine art

In addition to all these changes, Hades 2 takes advantage of this third patch to refine its interface and correct numerous bugs. New icons will appear, and the interface will become clearer. When it comes to fixes, those are as much interested in problems with unexpected crashes as with display bugs. To avoid overwhelming you with extremely extensive patch notes, we invite you to consult them (unfortunately only in English), notably via the Steam page Game.

Hades 2 is currently only available on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. Supergiant Games plans to deploy its highly anticipated game in its final version in 2025 on PC, but also on PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series. As with the first opus, a Nintendo Switch version should also be released, either at the same time as on other platforms or later.
