Epic Games is once again giving out gifts to PC gamers. Starting today, you can grab the horror RPG Sunless Skies. It normally costs 22.99 euros on Steam and is especially worth a look for Cthulhu fans.
Epic Games is giving away Sunless Skies
Many PC gamers are likely to use Thursday evenings to take a quick trip to the Epic Games Store. This is because Epic gives away at least one game every week on its platform. PC gamers can collect the gift for seven days before the free offer in the online store changes again.

On June 27, 2024 At 5:00 p.m. there will be a new gaming treat available for free in the Epic Games Store – Sunless Skies: Sovereign Edition (view on the Epic Games Store). In the horror RPG, you take on the role of a captain of a flying steam locomotive and explore the skies of the new Victorian Empire.
It's up to you whether you earn your living as a trader by buying and selling goods, embark on a great adventure through the dark world with your crew, or join the rebellion that wants to overthrow the Empire.
Who benefits from Sunless Skies?
In Sunless Skies you control your rather sluggish steam locomotive in the Top-down perspective through the sky, fight battles in real time and always make sure you have enough resources to repair your vehicle at the next port and replenish your supplies.
In other words: Sunless Skies can be really tough at times – especially at the beginning. If your train falls victim to the threats of the sky for the first time within a few minutes of playing, you shouldn't despair. That's part of the game. In addition, your captain passes one of his treasures on to the next.

What you should also note: Sunless Skies is only available in English and is rather text-heavy. The game tells most of the stories in fairly large text boxes, which you should read carefully if you want to know how the world works – and what threats lurk in it.
For Cthulhu fans, Sunless Skies is definitely worth a look, as the developers are clearly inspired by the stories of H.P. Lovecraft have inspired you. In the game world, you will often come into contact with creatures of cosmic horror and in such cases, you should run as quickly as possible before you go mad.
