Which weapon to choose for this Perfumes Build on Elden Ring?

Already available in Elden Ring, perfumes are making their return in the Shadow of the ErdTree DLC. A devastating weapon that comes in several elements: fire, lightning, ice, poison and madness. It is precisely the lightning and frost bottles that interest us. Both obey different builds but remain devastating when combined with the right war ash.

  • The lightning perfume bottle is located on a perfumer's corpse, north of the Cerulean Coast. The area is notable because it is regularly struck by lightning.
  • The glacia perfume bottlel is also obtained on a corpse. Head to the upper floor of the Teardrop Jail. The area can be accessed from the south side, located in Charo's tomb. Once entered, go along to the left to notice an entrance through which you can jump. Collect the key and open the previously locked door. Continue your way until you see a pot meat coming out of a door on your right. Defeat the monster, take the door he just passed through and you will recover the bottle.

For the Perfume build to work, you absolutely must get the new Sparkling Surge War Ash. It is in Occult Altus, just south of the Black Castle: bring down the flying scarab using a bow and kill it to get the War Ash.

It all depends on the bottle you want to play with. In any case, you need a dexterity stat around 50 (with a slight limit to 60). For lightning, do the same with your faith stat. Concerning the gel perfume bottle, it is intelligence that must be used.

In general, we also advise you to increase your vigor to around 50-60 for this DLC so as not to explode at the first flick. Also increase your spirit (20 is enough) in order to be able to use the incantations that go with the war ash. Your attack power will, in reality, be mainly increased by incantations and talismans.

Incantations and spells to choose from

It is above all the preparation which is decisive with this build to inflict maximum damage. If it goes through specific pieces of equipment (regarding talismans and the vial of miraculous salvation). To destroy the nostrils of your opponents with the scent of lightning, the incantation Cry of Shabiri is to be launched before each fight (at least those of bosses, you will destroy normal enemies) as well as that of the Golden Oath are interesting to increase the damage .

As for the icy scent, you can use a staff in S scaling with intelligence to cast Magic Domain. The damage inflicted in the area will then be increased significantly.

A sub-optimal build but still effective

Equipment pieces to choose

Once again, your equipment varies depending on your choice since Intelligence and Faith do not involve the same items. Only the perfumer's talisman is mandatory since it increases the damage linked to perfume. Logic.

Secondly, it all depends on your exploration of the realm of shadows and even the base game. If you have it or have the possibility of having it, Alexander's fragment fits well into this build since it increases the damage inflicted by your war ash (your main source of damage). It is also the lightning damage that we want to increase, so thinking about the lightning scorpion talisman is also legitimate. To benefit from the bonuses linked to the Cry of Shabiri, it is the Exaltation of the Ancient talisman which increases your attack power thanks to the madness that you have triggered. For those who don't have all that, don't panic. Many talismans do the trick in the meantime. For example, talismans that increase dexterity (Amputated Swordsman's Legacy; Milicent's Prosthetic) are good choices to complement with defensive talismans like the Dragon Shield Talisman.

As part of the gel perfume bottle, a lot of left hand ones do the trick. The meteor staff, with its S scaling in intelligence, will make the magical domain a more than dangerous zone for the enemy when you launch your sparkling surge there.

For the vial of miraculous salvation, we follow the same logic as before. Put something that increases dexterity/faith or even the opaline crystal pearl to be sure to cast the skill.

A video is worth a thousand words. The video above shows me fighting Gaius with a far from optimal lightning flask build. While I don't defeat him here (boss fights are a precious resource when dealing with Elden Ring…), we can still see the effectiveness of the weapon. The difficulty lies in the habit of targeting the enemy who is to be put aside. By aiming at the ground with the war ash Sparkling Surge, it is a large area that explodes on the enemy and inflicts significant damage. The second difficulty then lies in the timing to take since it leaves us defenseless. This is why we choose the incantation Golden Oath, or even the war ash Resilience to put on a small dagger to increase its posture.
