Dragon Age The Veilguard: Customizable Armor, Transmog & More

In an extensive preview, GameInformer gave us further details about BioWare's role-playing game “Dragon Age: The Veilguard”. This time it's all about your group's equipment and a transmog function.

In the past few days we have received various details about BioWare’s new role-playing game “Dragon Age: The Veilguard”. These included the skill trees, the level of difficulty or the Structure of the game world.

A current preview the Game Informer You can find further information about the fantasy adventure here. As you would expect from a role-playing game, in “Dragon Age: The Veilguard” it will also be possible to strengthen your heroine or hero and the group with various pieces of equipment.

Which equipment and armor pieces you can use depends on the character and their class. You can equip each member of your group with armor, a weapon, a ring and an accessory.

Additional armor options for the main character

When it comes to the protagonist of “Dragon Age: The Veilguard”, the equipment options are somewhat more extensive. Rook, on the other hand, can be equipped with two weapons, two rings, a helmet, an amulet and a belt. The belt determines, for example, how effective your healing potions are.

In addition, particularly rare or high-quality belts grant you additional effects in battle. These include temporary invulnerability or an increase in the damage dealt. Furthermore, “Dragon Age: The Veilguard” will contain tailor-made armor and equipment for certain classes and characters.

In practice, this means that in the world of the role-playing game, you will repeatedly come across armor or weapons that can only be used by certain characters or classes. Another interesting feature: The character editor in “Dragon Age: The Veilguard” has a preview function.

This allows you to see what your character looks like in particularly powerful or rare armor.

A transmog feature is also on board

Game Director Corinne Busche confirmed to GameInformer that “Dragon Age: The Veilguard” will feature an “extensive transmog feature.”

The feature will enable you to customize the visual appearance of your characters without losing the stats and advantages of your current armor.



“Dragon Age: The Veilguard” will be released in the fall of 2024 for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. EA and BioWare have not yet given a specific date. A more precise date will follow as the role-playing game nears completion.
