Jafar’s origins
Jafar comes from the animated film Aladdin released in 1992. Royal Vizier of the city of Agrabah, Jafar has only one dream, to become the new sultan. His thirst for power has no limits but his plans are undermined by Aladdin, a young orphan man who will succeed in seducing Princess Jasmine of Agrabah.

Increase friendship and rewards
Jafar will offer you a kingdom quest. And like all the characters present in Disney Dreamlight Valley, he will also offer you Friendship quests. These will allow you to increase your friendship level with him. Each level reached will earn you a reward from him. Note that the maximum level you can reach is 10. Beyond that, Jafar will no longer give you any gifts.

But quests are not the only way to increase friendship level. Every day it is possible to give Jafar his favorite gifts. And if his desires change depending on the day, the gifts that come back most often are the cooked dish.

Story Quest: Secrets of the Isle of Eternity
Once the DLC A Rift in Time in your possession, a cutscene will begin when the game is launched. A strange device appears on theEsplanade and will allow you to chat with Jafar in hologram form.
He will ask you to join him using the Ancient Ship and sends you to find Merlin to learn more. Go talk to the magician which will start the story quest
The Port of Many Worlds of Merlin which will allow you to access the Island of Eternity.
Arriving there, Jafar explains to you that you are in the Ancient port and asks you to find the ancient portal that will take you further into the island. The portal is at the top of the stairs. However, fragments of destiny block your path. You can remove them in the same way as night thorns.
Once at the top, talk to Jafar again at the hologram device. He will explain to you that the ancient portal is closed and that the sphere powering the opening mechanism is missing. You will find :
- the left half of the sphere to the left of Scrooge’s dilapidated shop
- the right half at the foot of the tree at the top of the stairs
Repair the sphere on the crafting station then place the sphere on its receptacle. All you have to do is venture a little further on the island and talk to Jafar’s hologram to complete the quest. It will improve your royal pickaxe so you can remove copper rocks.
Story Quest: The Flying Metal Nuisance
Jafar entrusts you with the task of finding the royal hourglass but it is guarded by the flying metallic nuisance. Return to the first area and head towards the bridge blocked by copper rocks. Use your pickaxe to break them and go talk to the flying metal nuisance, i.e. EVE.
Unfortunately, she refuses to let you near the royal hourglass. Return to Jafar at a hologram station for advice. He suggests that you go to her house to find something to convince her. Once inside, remove the piles of trash to find a souvenir. Return to Jafar again to tell him what you saw.
You must now try to partially recreate the memory. Go to the area indicated by the memory, that is to say the recess behind the waterfall. You will have to break copper rocks to enter. Once inside, head to the chest on the far left and collect the two bags of EVE’s treasures. Then, use them to get the hat and the robot costume. Put on your new outfit and return to EVE. She then gives you a recipe to make.
But for that, you will have to unlock Goofy’s stand in the Ancient port. To do this, collect the pieces of broken panel from the stand on the crates to the left of the stairs. This will start the quest Right on the mark by Goofy. Once the quest is completed, gather the following ingredients:
- 1 robot fish to fish at the orange circles in the
Ancient port - 1 cumin to pick by collecting certain white flowers in the Ancient port
- 1 celery whose seeds can be purchased at the Dingo stand at Ancient port
- 1 sea snail to fish at the blue circles in the
Ancient port
Cook the recipe for the best fish ever and bring the dish to EVE. The robot now recognizes you, and you can pick up the royal hourglass. Return to the Broken Bridge and speak to Jafar on the hologram station to complete the quest. Jafar will upgrade your hourglass so it can clear swirling sands.
Story Quest: Sand in the Hourglass
Starting from the broken bridge, head right. Use the royal hourglass to clear the swirling sands blocking the way. Once done, follow the path until you reach the Secluded beach. There, talk to Jafar on the hologram station.
You will have to repair the statue of time and for that, you need the right materials. Use your hourglass to find the 2 lost treasures on the Secluded beach and the 3 treasures lost around the Ancient port.
Once recovered, return to speak to Jafar on the
Secluded beach. He explains to you that to repair the statue you will have to use a temporal bending table. He explains how it works and gives you detailed instructions for statue repair. Make the arms then place them back on the statue. Return to the Broken Bridge and talk to Jafar. Your hourglass can now channel mist magic. He also explains to you that after repairing the bridge, you will need to find 2 more time stones, one in the Glittering Dunes and one in the
Wild Meanders. All you have to do is repair the broken bridge. This will cost you 2000 mists.
