Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster: Original on the Index

“Dead Rising”, released in 2006, is still banned in Germany. As things currently look like, this could mean that the German gaming community will also be left empty-handed with the recently announced “Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster”.

With “Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster” Publisher Capcom recently announced a graphically and gameplay-wise revised new edition of the zombie spectacle originally released in 2006.

As is well known, the original “Dead Rising” ended up on the index at the time. After some back and forth, “Dead Rising” has been on the List A of the indexed media. An event that could potentially lead to German players also coming away empty-handed with the remaster.

At least that is what the official website of “Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster” as well as the various download stores currently indicate.

Remaster not yet available in Germany

In keeping with the announcement that “Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster” will be released in September for the PC and current consoles, Capcom started pre-orders in the download stores. However, not in Germany.

Because “Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster” is currently not available in the local PlayStation Store or the German Xbox Store.

A similar picture emerges on Steam. In the German version of Valve's online store, the following notice awaits: “This product is currently not available in your country.” There is also no indication on the official website that “Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster” will be released in Germany.

However, this does not necessarily mean that there will be no release in Germany. Instead, Capcom could currently be in talks with the local USK to be able to release the remaster here as well.

Should the publisher provide clarity regarding a release in Germany, we will of course immediately update you on the current status.

A classic celebrates its comeback

As Capcom promised in the official announcement, “Dead Rising” will be revised both graphically and in terms of gameplay as part of the remaster. For example, we can look forward to a revised character model for Frank West as well as improved animations and effects.

In terms of gameplay, however, the developers at Capcom are concerned with making minor improvements without the new edition deviating too much from the original in terms of gameplay. “Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster” will be released on September 19, 2024 for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.

In addition to a standard version, Capcom is offering a digital deluxe edition. The extras offered include outfits based on well-known brands such as “Resident Evil” or “Mega Man”.
