Bethesda Reveals When Fallout 5 is Coming

With the Fallout series, Amazon has triggered a new wave of hype around the Bethesda role-playing games. New and old fans now want a new single-player RPG. Bethesda boss Todd Howard, however, is in no hurry at all.

Fallout 5: Bethesda won’t rush

Since the release of Fallout 76, six years have already passed and Fallout 4 is even three years older. The long break is torture for fans of the radioactive post-apocalypse – especially now that all eyes are on the RPG series again thanks to the popular Amazon series.

In an interview with YouTuber MrMattPlays, Bethesda boss Todd Howard explains that he does not want to rush anything and therefore wants fans to should not expect Fallout 5 anytime soon:

I understand the desire for a new single-player game. And these things take time. I don't think it's a bad thing if people miss something. We just want to do things right and make sure that everything we do with a franchise, whether it's Elder Scrolls, Fallout or Starfield, becomes meaningful moments for everyone who loves those franchises as much as we do.

The Elder Scrolls 6 comes before Fallout 5

Even the success of the Fallout series on Amazon Prime has not ensured that the RPG series at Bethesda moves forward. The next game on the list is therefore still Elder Scrolls 6Since large open-world games take a lot of development time, Fallout 5 is probably still many years away. A release around 2030 is probably still optimistic.

However, it is quite possible that Fallout fans will not be left completely empty-handed in the meantime. Howard himself has already hinted that projects in the Fallout franchise are being worked on – perhaps not Fallout 5, but possibly a Remake or a mobile gameIn the same interview, however, the Bethesda boss made it clear that fans should not hope for new editions of Fallout 1 or Fallout 2.
