Characters and skills at a glance

In the betas, all 16 characters that will be available at release will be available and in addition to the three modes presented here, another mode will be added. From the 16 playable heroesWe already know ten of the games that will be available at release:

Lennox:

Movement: Double jump

As a gunslinger, Lennox carries two one-handed guns that he can quickly fire at his enemies. His abilities include an exploding knife and healing himself. His passive bonus allows him to reload his weapon if he quickly switches it after emptying it

StarChild:

Movement: Double jump

A berserker with tank characteristics. The only weapon is a shotgun, with a medium rate of fire and high damage at close range. The first ability helps to get close to the enemies: a long rush at enemies. If you hit an enemy player, they take heavy damage. As a second ability, Star Child hits the ground and does area damage around himself. Thanks to his passive skill, he is damage-resistant while executing both active skills and charges them immediately when he makes a kill.

1-Off:

Movement: Single jump

A former recycling robot, 1-Off is made of steel and acts as a tank support. With his weapon he can either suck in enemy projectiles or fire a pressure beam that does light damage and pushes enemies back. As for abilities, he can place an air cylinder that reflects bullets back and throw a garbage bomb that explodes after a few ricochets. The abilities charge up by sucking in objects with the primary weapon. The passive ability allows you to recognize corresponding objects and takes less damage.

Jabali:

Movement: Triple jump

His rifle seeks out enemies, but doesn't do too much damage. His focus, however, is on support, which is characterized by his first ability: a ball that heals all allies in the area. Allies can collect the healing orb, which causes the healing field to move with it. Jabali's second ability is a damage ball that follows enemies. If an enemy dies from the damage orb or Jabali's weapon, his healing ability regenerates.

Roka:

Movement: Triple jump; dodge in the air

Carrying a rocket launcher, Roka shoots down enemies on the ground while moving in the sky. One of her abilities allows her to hover in the air, while her second ability allows her to deal splash damage to enemies on the ground. Her passive abilities include leaving an explosion behind her when she double or triple jumps, and her rockets seek out enemies if they are targeted long enough.

DaVeers:

Movement: Double jump

With a grenade launcher full of flammable chemicals, DaVeers does a lot of damage with one hit, but the weapon has a correspondingly long reload time. The active skills consist of creating a large puddle of chemicals that ignite themselves after a short time. With a flame dart as a second skill, the puddles can be manually lit more quickly in order to block paths. DaVeer's passive ability ensures that other characters can also light the remaining chemicals.

Daw:

Movement: Double jump

As a field medic, Daw carries a simple burst rifle. His focus is on support, which is reflected in his skills. He can once place a platform on the ground that heals nearby allies until it uses up its energy or is destroyed by enemies. His second ability is a dome that does not allow any shots to pass through – neither from inside nor outside. Daw passively heals himself a little every time he dodges.

We haven't yet had a look at the hero cards of the following heroes, which is why our information about them is not yet complete:

Haymar: She shoots flaming arrows with her crossbow as well as with her hands. Her movement takes place primarily in the air, from where she can throw walls of fire at enemies. With her second ability, she can blind enemies.

Vale: With a focus on long-range, Vale presents herself as a sharpshooter. With her bionic legs, Vale can make huge leaps into the air to shoot her enemies from above and place scanners to be forewarned if someone tries to get around her.

Theo: As a soldier, Teo is the one who gives you the most classic shooter feeling. Armed with an assault rifle, his skills include throwing a smoke grenade or a cluster grenade that splits into a small radius before exploding. His passive skill is that he can see the playing field normally at all times through his visor, meaning he can use the smoke grenade not only to escape, but also to take out enemies.

Crew skills – Concord's special trick

In addition to the normal skills and weapons, all heroes have a special crew skill. This doesn't help the other players in the match, but remains for all characters you play during the course of a round. So the more you switch characters, the more bonuses you collect.

Crew skills we know:

Lennox: Improved weapon range

Jabali: Reduced weapon recoil

1-Off: Increased healing received

Star Child, DaVeers: The dodge roll has a shorter cooldown

Roka: Better mobility

Daw: Faster reload speed

Game modes in Concord

At release, there will be six game modes available, which will be gradually expanded and are divided into with and without respawn. We were already able to play three match types:

Trophy Hunt: A respawn-based mode in which you have to eliminate the opposing team in classic team deathmatch style. In this case, however, you only get one point if you collect the dropped bounty or kill cards. The mode is known from games like Call of Duty under the name “kill confirmed”. In Trophy Hunt, you have to score a total of 30 points to win a match, or the team with the most points wins when the 10-minute timer runs out.

Cargo Run: This mode does not offer respawning, so if you are eliminated once, you have to wait until the round starts again. This happens as soon as all players on a team are eliminated or the objective is achieved. This involves collecting a small package in the middle of the map, taking it to one of the removal zones and defending it there. As soon as a team has four points, the match ends.

Clash Point: A round-based mode without respawns in which a zone in the middle of the map must be captured and held. The match is won by holding the zone for a certain amount of time or by completely eliminating the opposing team. A match lasts until one team has scored a point four times.

Other game modes are named Takedown, Area Control and Signal Chasebut we haven't been able to see or test them yet. Based on the names, it could probably be a classic team deathmatch, as well as modified domination matches with moving zones.
